From memory, the 3 picks we need to make can include rookie upgrades, with the last draft choice(s) allocated to these. IF Cooney comes in, it looks as if 2 (new) picks will be fine at 16 & 25. Then Turner and/or Tippet get upgraded.

If we end up with 3 picks in the top 30 we may not use 36 anyway so I'd be happy to use it on Cooney.
IN: Waite, Higgins, Cooney, 3 draft picks, 0-2 rookie upgrades.
OUT: Levi...

Will we make 5 extra delistings just to get that 3rd pick? Don't get me wrong, I'd keep one of Turner or Tippett on the rookie list if we had pick #30. I just don't think we will get it, which means 2 draft picks may be just fine.

Good point. At a guess i'd say we'll leve both of them on the Rookie list. Tippetts mainly backup for Grima, Thompson and Hansen at this stage and if one of them goes down he can be promoted and Turner's still only 19 next year, so I don't think there will be any rush to promote him, especially when we're struggling for list spots as it is. i think we'll draft 3 kids as Brad alluded to at the BnF and well get Waite, Higgins and Cooney in. i think it will be Levi, Hine, Anthony, Curran, Wilkins and one other who I can't qute think of off the top of my head delisted to make room for those 6.

I'd do pick 36 on the basis that the dogs are paying a significant amount of his 400k for next year. I know it's been reported they will pay some, but to give up 36 I'd like to think they are paying quite a bit of it.

Agreed on Tippett staying on rookie list. If Tarrant is fit, he can be a defensive tall back-up (along with Waite). If Tarrant is injured, then Tippett gets upgraded to take that back-up spot anyway.

Not so sure on Turner. I think that in a perfect world, Brad Scott would like to call on him whenever he was required.

I would definitely agree and i think Turner deserves a permanent spot, but I mean it's not like he's going anywhere and he's still young. Brads comments at the BnF just make me think we'll take 3 kids at the draft and if we do I'm not sure there's a spot on the senior list for Turner.

That's the deadset best I could find until Sam Mitchell in 2001 and Luke McGuane in 2004. I know you can find gold back there, but it's a chook lotto against the odds.
37 on the other hand has got us Thompson Goldstein and Macmillan. If we don't get a 3rd round upgrade I'd hope they are paying most of his salary .
