36 is probably slightly overs - however we dont have anything between 40-50 which is probably around the mark. I wouldnt be to dissapointed with this particularly having picks 16 and 25.
Geeze man, have we all gone bonkers?!

Dogs want him gone and we want to throw them pick 36?

Convince Cooney to come to North and offer pick 56. The dogs say no - they can keep him. If * want to up the bidding then let them win.

What's with paying up for injury prone 30 year olds suddenly? Is JYD consulting to the club?

not interested in Cooney, was warmed to the idea when it come up a few days ago, but he along with Waite and Higgins changes the age make up of our list way too much. Think we are better off sticking with what we have while balancing it up by getting games into Dumont and co.
Higgins is only 26 isn't he? Waite and Cooney have another 2 years left. We have a lot of dead wood on our list at the moment that these three are a big improvement on as well as 2-3 quality picks coming in.

Agree

He's alright as someone cheap, but we do not want to be moving one of our higher pick for him.

56 ok
36 nah.

If we swap 3rd rounders with the Pies we could be offering 48 for Cooney? This would be better than ESS 3rd rounder.

Cooney's medical was very good, no worries about his health. Wait until the Pies deal is done, you might see us getting an extra pick.

Happy to bring him on board. Just a pity we signed guys like Jacobs prior to the end of trade period.

Turner will be on the rookie list at the start of the year.

I think the pertinent question is, how many injury prone players can we handle?

Because imo, we're already carrying too many. Tarrant, Waite, Higgins, Delaney, Curran. Throw in Narni as being prone to longish stints on the sidelines, Garner missing a year, , Harper and the ongoing foot/feet, it's looking pretty long.

I'm not criticising the med team either btw, as sometimes "shit happens". That doesn't change the reality though that adding another older injury prone player is increased pressure on the med team, as well as the remaining fit playing list.

Fair old roll of the dice.

What some people fail to realise is that Cooney was the second choice for opposition teams to tag after Griffin and his stats are not bad over the last two years after his treatment for his knee.

At North he would not even be considered to be tagged and with Cooney and Harvey rotating in the high half forward role (replacing Adams) then he will thrive. He still has his pace and skill.
nah, earlier in the year when Grif was struggling with his back, they tagged Libba. Don't think Coons has been tagged in a while. He still has his trademark burst on occasion, but his field kicking has been iffy. Not terrible, but below his younger standards.

Do you think Tom Boyd would sign a contract at Footscay just to get him home a year earlier and picking will then try to move him again to a better side in a year or two? very supprised picking the dogs

There can be only one...

This was basically what happened with Dal Santo, he was shithouse last year because he was being tagged all the time and the team wasn't playing very well, he had a very good year getting the opportunity to have a non-tagger on him all the time.

48 from the pies?

Are we offering 36 or 48 for Cooney?

Yeh the dogs supporter who just said otherwise clearly knows less about his team than you do.
