We couldn't get our hands on the ball, Boomer played in many of those type of games this year and didn't change the outcome.
He is not much of a loss. Swallow back to full fitness is a big up grace. Turner will help fill his loss. This is not a huge deal IMO.

Really hope we hold our 1st 2 picks now and if doing any deals improve our 3rd too.

16 + 25 is as good a combo as we've had since 2010 and there's been less cherry-picking (not that sort TT) pre-draft this time around.
Think it is really 13 and 22 now as picks are already committed.

Although I have been flippant at times most players are a loss of some description if they leave.

That said you move on and at first we were offered pick 30 and now we get pick 25.

Further how many games next year do people anticipate that , at this point in time, this year's draftees will play.

We have done the best we can without having had to ever tank.

I also think that we will use the 3rd round pick (Scott's comments at the Syd) = hopefully we do not give up the pick for Cooney. Will still be quality there!

It is a void because we do not have anyone like him to fill that role he played in the short-term. We are obviously going to hope Wells and Macmillan play more this year, McDonald and Atley play more midfield and perhaps a Cooney can give us more on the outside.

However, the problem still remains that we had numerous problems this year getting our hands on the ball on the inside and ?? Patrick ?? was a significant factor in us winning games of footy this year we probably would have lost without him.

If we don't play more consistently on the inside then it is going to be a void.

Great minds.

Right. Silver lining - 2 picks in 1st 25.
Silver panty lining - 3 picks in 1st 25 are already allocated.
So we now effectively have picks 13 and 22 in terms of live picks.
And just a bonus FU while I'm at it to the tankers and AFL for them getting #3 for Frawley..

list the top 15 players in the competition and map them against draft position. it's not an exact science, but see if you can notice any correlation
I understand what ur saying.. List another 15 first rounders that didn't make it or play more like 3rd rounders thats not exactly science either

There can be only one...

It depends, some players come out of the blocks early, some do not. I wouldn't have thought Brown or Turner would get a game this year but they did.

However, if you bring in a lot of mature aged players there is probably not going to as much opportunity for younger kids.

Goodbye what ever your name was - off to the Pies

Everybody's high on consolation
Everybody's trying to tell me
What is right for me, yeah
I need a drink and a quick decision
Now it's up to me, ooooh what will be

[Chorus:]
he's gone, he's gone
Oh, why
Oh, why
I better learn how to face it
he's gone, he's gone
Oh, why
Oh, why
I'd pay the devil [the doggies] to replace him
he's gone,he's gone
Oh, why
What went wrong

Get up in the morning, look in the mirror
One less tooth brush hanging in the stand
My face ain't looking any younger
Now what I can see
Love's taken a toll on me

[Chorus]

Think I'll spend eternity in the city
Let the carbon and monoxide choke my thoughts away
And pretty bodies help dissolve the memories
There can never be what he once was to me

Mmmmm. You might be right. I guess we'll see.

BTW Cooney would be a good get for the right price. He's an outside player (mainly) - so performance relates to supply, i.e., playing for Bulldogs now sucks for outside players and forwards.

TRADE COMPLETE: Carlton receive Mark Whiley, Kristian Jaksch & pick 19. GWS receieve pick 7.
And with that, an offseason of Mark Whiley being considered the steal of the trade period by Carlton bigfooty supporters was set.

Although none of them had ever heard of him.

I don't think we'll massively regret the loss of Greenwood. Our biggest strength are our inside mids and if anything we're playing too many of them. Even in the Prelim Final where we got absolutely pumped we still won the clearances. Dumont (and maybe Jacobs) become the back-up inside mid should anyone go down with injury and we'll add Higgins and (hopefully) Cooney to bring some more outside run and class.

We're still looking at a much improved best 22 come round 1 2015.
