I seriously don't understand this site. We've secured two (maybe three) experienced players to add some polish to the list and we have at least two picks in the top 30 of the draft. I think we've done pretty bloody well considering. I'd hate to see how some of you blokes would react if I popped around to take your sister for a 'dance' : stern look

There can be only one...
Mmmmm. You might be right. I guess we'll see.
I hope other factors balance the ledger, like having Wells and Macmillan play all year and having a better input from Waite, Higgins and whomever else we add to the team. We will be more vulnerable if we have inside mid injuries like we had to deal with this year.

Overall, I am still optimistic we will have a good year next year. I just don't think people should write off how well Patrick played this year and how well he synergised with the other mids, we need a bit of luck that someone like McDonald can step up next year.

And with that, an offseason of Mark Whiley being considered the steal of the trade period by Carlton bigfooty supporters was set.

Although none of them had ever heard of him.
Not unlike the godees people who have had at least one win this trade season. They should be able to at least identify one player by name being Labamba.

Hmmm I mentioned we should be looking at trading Levi and was howled down however, it was before finals and Ziebell's emergence as a forward....I think we'll be fine without him although 25 seems unders to me. Hoping Dumont, Jacobs, and/or Bastinac step up in his absence.

Not a North trade but still trying to understand Geelong.

Traded Christensen for 21 for Stanley. Should've just held on to their pick.

They've already got Blicavs. Did they really need a 2nd tall lanky bloke who can run like the wind but can't play footy?

Only real positive, plus we might get lucky with 25 and get a descent enough steal.

Besides Hawkins, none of their talls strike fear into the heart's of the opposition.

Derek Hine admitted in an interview that pick 25 was overs but they just wanted to get things done. I don't think we did too badly.
Yes I'd expect him to tell the public they think they underpaid for a player.

What a load of tripe. If they really thought that then they would have stood there ground and offered pick 30 only as they had all power with uncontracted Levi nominating them.

No questions.

Just that you are wrong in your analysis.

Greenwood would have reached the Pies via the PSD. Very likely no one would have paid his agreed salary which is why he picked Pies to start with so he ends up there and we get nothing.

Pies refuse Beams deal. He is forced to play for Pies or sit the year out of the AFL. Lions realise they do want Beams next season so unsurprisingly ends up in a positive outcome for both parties.

With Greenwood there is no such reason for Pies to be generous. We should be happy with 25 for an uncontracted player that wanted out and get on with it.

They are very different situations whether you choose to accept it or otherwise.
The Bulldogs say hi.
