We could cover both with Maguire, Clarke and Gardiner with McStay, Staker, McGuane and Bourke as backup.

Only trouble with that is, two are severely injury prone and the other has barely touched a footy with us. Not sure how much mcguane has played down back either?

Patful will stay unless one of the Sydney clubs make an offer to good to refuse, Merrett on the other hand looks likely to be traded.

With all these options thrown up the one thing I am now certain of is that the Beams trade will be done. There will simply be options available to make it happen. Really will struggle with the idea of Patfull gone. The best quiet achiever since Shaun Hart IMO

I reckon it would be fair considering Merrett is contracted and McKenna does not like Harbrow.

Even his manager thinks McKernan is rookie list at best. Doubt we'll look at him.

I'd be concerned that Adelaide, who are great at developing key position players, weren't able to develop him into a good AFL player.

No chance of Patfull leaving. His manager wants to extend Joels deal 2 years on his current salary (circa 400K). Lions not budging. He will sign a new deal soon and play his career out in Brisbane. Rest easy Lions fans.

I'd want more if I was Gold Coast. Harbrow is a decent quality halfback that can break the lines and uses the ball well IMO. He's still only 26 so he's got a good 6 or so years left. Merrett maybe has 2

I think Merrett is all but gone to GWS imo. All this is hypothetical and my opinion but I reckon the AFL would have told GWS powerbrokers to pull their finger out and get competitive fast or risk losing millions. They can't keep having bottom 4 finishes with the rise of Wanderers support from all the immigrants and need to start winning some games. They will pay overs to get some experienced leaders to their club. Merrett for their second rounder imo and we will happily take it.

That trade is on the assumption that Harbrow wants out given he doesn't get along with the coach.
