Pick 67 is very interesting, you would think we have plans for it. This could be around trading pick 67 for another player on the fringe we like or it could be a draft smoky we think will slip through to this pick. Intriguing!

Can't find the article now but I read we were right in Mark Whiley from GWS who now looks like he will be traded to Carlton with Jaksch. Woods were into him also. Don't know much about him but apparently is a big bodied 190cm mid who killed it in the NEAFL this year. I wonder if there is a way we could pick him up if the Carlton trade falls through. I believe he is on GWS's rookie list.

I'd definitely be looking at Hunt and Robinson as good depth if they end up available as delisted free agents.

I would be more than happy to throw pick 67 at Taylor Hunt, just seems like a professional role playing footballer. Not sure where it went wrong at Geelong but I can see him as a solid citizen in a team like ours. They can't all be stars!

Yeah. Right age profile too - same age as Rocky, rich, redden, beams. I wonder if he and Bundy are mates or if they fell out over the recent events at Geelong?

This is what I'd be doing too.

agree. I've stated before I think the Fwd/Ruck role could be his best position rather than defence. Really like what I've seen of him in the ruck plus the ability to take a contested grab makes him a dangerous proposition down forward. Not sure if he is a natural forward to play down there full time though.

At this point I'm starting to wonder if we have more than enough in that tight age range now.

Going to be absolutely gutted by mass retirements at some stage if we aren't careful.

Watching his tape made me think of a 19yo Drew Petrie. Not a pack destroyer, but floats nicely, controls body contact rather than looking for it, and plucks the ball from as high as possible. If he ended up as good as Petrie, we'd be ok.

From a speculative Academy pick? Yeah, I'd be cool with that.

I don't care if we can win a premiership in between now and then. This is the age where players will be hitting their peak over the next 5-6 years. the more that peak together the higher likelihood of success.

I'm trying to remember that ex Hawk forward everyone was saying could be re-drafted last year and thought someone mentioned he may play this year in the VFL/SAFL. Can anyone remeber his name and if so how did he go this year?

I doubt we have any specific plans for 67.

It just moves our first live pick up from 81 to 67. by the time you take out passes at that stage of the draft it makes our first pick 5-8 spaces earlier. At that point in the draft its a bit of pot luck anyway but that might be enough to get us < insert random player name here > ahead of whatever other teams are still picking in the 70's.

what were the numbers again? we delisted/retired 7 and have traded out 2. so 9 list spots free compared to this year.

2 ins, 3 confirmed draftees leaves 4 list spots left to fill.

Getting 67 makes it 67, 81, 99 and one pick beyond.

potential for 1-2 rookie upgrades (although I think it would only be Bourke) which are upgraded wiht you last pick in the draft.

that would leave 67,81,99. I doubt we use all three of those picks on kids.

with a pick like 99 whoever you get is almost certainly going to be available in the rookie draft. you might as well spend a bit more time looking at them, can invite them to train with hte club, maybe find a player who was injured during the Combine or this season and confirm they are back on their feet for next season.

I'd say 67 on best kid available. last pick on bourke upgrade. leave 2 free spots on the list in the draft. use 1 for a delisted free agent Hunt/Robinson etc. use the other to upgrade one of our rookies if required next year after we have the knowledge of a full pre-season to determine which one is ready to go.

i wouldn't be against picking up Jared Petrenko as a delisted free agent, after watching his highlight reels from 2012 and 2013. he is hard at the ball and at his player and would be great as a small backman and would be great giving run out of the backline.

Please no - I live in Adelaide and watch him regularly, we do not want or need Petrenko

Melbourne the big losers. 4 years of Lumumbas nonsense.

Just wanna drop by and say well done to brisbane on your trading. You have shown you are an excellent team to deal with. You traded all the mummy's boys last year without whinging and got the job done with Beams fairly. I would have no issues dealing with you guys fairly in the future....GWS, collingwood and essendon on the other hand....

2014 draft trade period has proved to be just as fruitful as 2013. Great work by the recruiting staff

If we are still looking to be active over the next day I'd hope we'd sound out Shane Biggs from Sydney. He would cost more than pick 67 I'd assume. Nonetheless I'd inquire about him. He'd slot straight into our side of the HBF.

this may be out there and shot down quickly, but is there anything we could offer st kilda for pick 1?
