Now: Own player bidding starts
6pm Friday October 30: Opposition player bidding starts, all bids inactive, no limits on which and how many uncontracted players you can bid on
6pm Wednesday November 4: Trading starts, all leading inactive opposition bids become active
6pm Thursday November 24: Trading, opposition bidding closes
6pm Thursday December 1: Own player bidding closes (i.e. you have to have met the requirements below)
9am Monday December 5: Draft starts (picks can be passed for PSD)
Midday Sunday January 1: Rookie draft starts (picks can be passed for PSRD)
CAS Verdict + 48 hours: Top up draft (if required to replace suspended players, can promote a rookie and replace them in the PSRD)
6pm Sunday March 6: Pre-Season draft (can promote a rookie but will not get a replacement rookie)
Followed by: Pre-season rookie draft

What you need at the end
A senior list of exactly 40, including:
- All listed contracted players
- At least 3 National Draft picks including any acquired through trading and any earlier picks than these acquired ones
- Maximum 11 GST players:
-- At least 3 designated goalkickers
-- At least 3 designated stoppers
-- At least 2 designated tappers
-- Players can be eligible for more than one category, but are only counted in one category (you do not have to specify which)
-- Players who are not on an AFL list are ineligible to be GST players

Total player payments less than or equal to $10,400,000 (Gold Coast $11,232,000, Harbour City $10,608,000) including all senior listed players, delisted contracted players and retained rookie listed players

Bidding
Bidding is for uncontracted players only. These players are listed at the end of this post. The numbers before the names are for trading only, they have nothing to do with bidding.

All bids are final. If you offer a player a contract and nobody beats it, you will get that player. If he retires at any point after the offer you still get him and pay 100% of his salary in 2016 (unless a new career-ending injury comes up between the time of your bid and the lists deadline, then you may be entitled to only pay 50%). It is your job to make sure bids that affect you are valid.

Once a player has been obtained through bidding, he cannot be traded or otherwise moved around.

Bidding on opponents' players
A bid on an opposition player consists of 2 things - a salary (between $144,000* and $1,300,000) and a duration (1 to 5 years). To beat the existing leading bid you must:

• Match the salary;
• Match the value (salary multiplied by duration); and

and either

• Beat the salary by $10,000;
• Beat the value by $25,000; or

Each club can make a maximum of three bids on each player. This number includes any invalid bids.
*Minimum bids are 146/183/219/255/291

Bidding on your own players
A bid on your own player consists of 2 things - a salary (between $134,000** and $1,300,000) and a duration (1 to 5 years). To beat the existing leading bid you must:

• Match the salary; and
• Match the value (salary multiplied by duration)

If you are successful with a bid, the salary you pay that player will at that point be reduced by 10% (and rounded up to the next full $1000). DO NOTmake your bids with the 10% reduction included. If you bid $450k and the previous bid was $500k, the $500k bid wins.
**Minimum bids are 134/168/202/235/268

You can make as many bids as you want on your own players.

To be a valid trade
Both clubs must confirm the trade prior to the deadline
All players must be on the clubs' lists prior to the first post of the trade (i.e.no on-trading until the previous trade is confirmed)
The receiving club must post the contract details for any previously uncontracted player they are receiving
- This contract must have a salary of at least the number before the player's name in the post above
- This contract must have a salary of at least the minimum salary for that length (121/152/182/212/242)
- This contract must have a value and salary greater than or equal to the leading bid on the player at the time of posting the trade.

Extending contracted players contracts
When receiving a contracted player you are giving him a new contract. If you don't mention new details when posting the trade then the contract you are signing him on is the same salary he was on at the previous club for whatever time was left on that contract. If you wish to contract him for longer you can extend the contract in accordance with the following table, where the left hand column is the salary in $1000s for a 1 year deal and right hand column is for a 5 year deal.

Special Rules
Veterans
Offering a veteran contract beats any bid and is unbeatable. Once you offer the veteran contract, they become untradeable so you will keep them for 2016. You can have up to four veterans - your first veteran is free, second costs $104k, third costs $208k and fourth costs $416k.

* Existing veterans under contract for 2016 must be retained as veterans for 2016 unless traded, amnestied or paid out on the contract they signed before being veteranised.
* Existing uncontracted veterans cannot be moved back to the senior list (other than via delistment then re-draft) therefore the current club cannot bid on them. Opponents can bid on them (which can be matched only with a veteran contract of the same length) and they can be traded.
* Contracted eligible veterans can be added to the veterans list - if they have more than 1 year to go, be aware that they will be taking up a veterans list spot for all that time. As soon as you do anything else with the player, that takes the veteranising option off the table.
* Uncontracted eligible veterans have normal bidding/trading rules until given a veterans contract. If a bid of more than one year is made on before this, the veteran contract must be for the length of the latest bid (there is no benefit making them longer).

Rookie Promotions
Up until a bid is made on them, you can promote your rookies on any of the following contracts:
- 1 year, $104k
- 2 years, $125k
- 3 years, $312k
- 4 years, $468k
- 5 years, $676k
These are unbeatable but once an opponent makes a bid, or you make one in an attempt to keep them on a cheaper salary than offered here, this offer is withdrawn and the bidding system is your only way of keeping them.

Other than ineligible rookies, you can choose not to promote and instead make a bid to keep a rookie on your rookie list for another year. This will cost you $58k, but is beatable by any other bid.

3/4 Year Contract Extensions
Each club can change the contract of one of their players who:
1) has completed 3 or 4 years of their current contract; and
2) is contracted for 2016
to a new contract of any length on $676,000 (unless otherwise specified).

Second Year Contract Extensions
Any of the one year players who you drafted on an automatic 2 year contract last year can now have that contract torn up and replaced with a contract of:
- 2 years, $260k
- 3 years, $416k
- 4 years, $520k
- 5 years, $676k
Or they can be left on their current contract and will become uncontracted and subject to bidding at the end of 2016. You can use this extension on as many of your eligible players as you like.

If you want to delist a contracted player, you must post that in this thread. You will automatically get a 25% discount for players who do not end up on an AFL list.
For players with multiple years remaining, you can also choose to pay out the contract over all those years, or you can pay it all out now.
If you want a 50% or 100% discount make sure that is approved in the applications thread first. If it is not approved at the time you post the delistment, you will not get that discount.
If you are 100% sure you want to delist an uncontracted player, you can post that here to have them removed from your list at the next update. All uncontracted players at the end of the bidding period are automatically delisted.

Numbers next to players have nothing to do with bidding. They are the minimum if you trade them (if the number is above the minimum contract amount).
