Curtly has nominated Adelaide.
Would have thought SYD may have had some interest there with their runners depleting.

Would be nice to get about 5 highly rated, true promising league footballers PLUS the 2 x F/S at draft time (wonder if SOSOS could fall into a rookie spot?).
Will we cut deeper on our rookies if we don't have enough high end ND picks?
Fields, Walsh, Gowers?
Sheehan, Wood likely upgraded.

Was last year the greatest in-take of ND's we've had in some years @ 4 picks?

everyone here seems locked into Weitering , and rightly so i guess. Is he really the consensus #1 though? I've seen a few mock drafts that still show Shache as the top pick

Has there been any inside news that Weitering is actually our guy? Normally by now our recruitment manager has tattooed the name of who we are taking on his forehead

I'm on the Weitering bandwagon.

Not a lot not to like......Great reader of the ball......Plays the ground exceptionally well......Plays tight but knows when to run off his man......Good spoiler.....Great awareness......Excellent user of the ball.........Plays hard........is captain material..........yet is a bottom-ager in this draft.

Sign him up, more captain like material needed in the club. A mature kid just like Crippa.

I'll be sweating on it............It's not as though we'd hand over our first...................surely not.
Weitering is very good and for a guy so young to be running the back-line says something for the respect he garners........but he is a back-man. :)

Just from the small sample I've seen:
1. Weitering
2. Parish
3. ...............I don't know. Clarke looks good but I guess Schache.....because everyone else says so and we need a KPF.

Of what I saw of Schache in the champs, I did like (think vs SA), especially his kicking for goal and his leading but it's a different game style in the AFL as he'll find out about with the forward line congestion.

His kicking is beautiful even for the 2.4 he kicked last week.

Just doesn't seem particularly mobile nor have good leading patterns at this stage.
They're all just opinions for now and he looked good.............but sort of Wright good, from last year.

EDIT: Exactly. Schache looks good running into space but when it got tight, Collins & Weitering just about monstered him...

We take the best player in the Draft no brainer, when i think of daniel talia and hugh goddard, we won't make the same mistake this time.
we'll take Jacob. When u look at age in tthe backline jamo and rowe arent getting any younger

Bell for 21

hendo for 10

yarran for lennon and 50

21 and 50 for plowman bugg and phillips

end up with:

pick 1, 10, 20, 38, 56, 74 plus lennon, plowman, bugg and phillips. potentially lamb in PSD

use pick 1 for weltering, 10 for best available (maitheson, weiderman etc), and 38, 56 and 74 on rice and SOSOS if needed.

thoughts?

Would we have to give more for bugg, Plowman and Phillips?
I could see us getting Plowman and Phillips for 21 and 50

Plowman has more currency than pick 21 and 50 alone. He is a former pick 3 and would've played more games in 2015 had he not dislocated his elbow during preseason. A 190cm rebounding/intercepting defender who makes smart decisions with ball in hand would attract the interest of many clubs.
