Any chance that Jake Bradley could be rookied?
Will be interesting to see if we invite him to train post-draft. Smallish, but can apparently run all day but not sure if he's really developed himself as a footballer over the last two years training with the Knights.

I defer to someone who's seen his 4 (I think) TAC games.

For those in the know, is next year's draft really going to be significantly stronger than this year's?
I'm not in the know but when the 16 year olds have often been the better players for their respective squads, it may be a good chance.

Generall accepted that next year will be deeper based on this year.....but who knows?

That was a quick response. Thanks.

I'm a little cautious hearing this stuff considering many pegged 2006 to be the ultimate draft, yet 2005 has yielded more stars within the top picks if I'm not mistaken.

2005: Murphy, Pendlebury, Thomas (when he was in his peak), Kennedy, Ryder, Hurn, Birchall

Compared to 2006:

2006: Gibbs, Selwood, Boak, Frawley, Luenberger

Maybe I'm forgetting some off the top of my head. I also remember people saying 2008 was very special as well but I'm not too convinced.

Those that get to regular games over years would/should have a very good feel for the overall tone of a draft year........but they could also be wrong. :)

The standard did seem to be lower than that from previous years but then again the TAC finals did seem to be somewhat more congested in the contest.

after watching the hawks again yesterday can we make sure we get players you can kick the ball well
Interesting listening to SEN earlier as they were discussing Clarkson's insistence on attaining a particular biomechanics expert (I think it was this.)

Story went that the board initially said no, as they felt that Hawthorn didn't need any more coaches which then had Clarkson offer up 100K of his salary, to ensure this individuals recruitment. He was the guy that taught the players how to kick.

May be just a story but..............

Weitering at #1 without question.
We should get at least one may be two late first rounders.
Best case we get one for Yazz this year even if we have to pay some of his salary. Somewhere around 15.
Geelong give us there first next year pick 14-18 for Hendo and may be a 4th rounder this year.
With the Yarran pick Burton Collins and Milera would be who I'd like at Carlton.
With our second Ryan Clarke or Callum AhCee if there still on the board.
Hopefully we can get another good pick for Bell either Brisbane second 21 or maybe one of GCS late first.
There will still be a few real talented players around 25-30.

Wouldn't surprise me if this was true.

Milera is just about as weak-arsed, outside as you can get. isaac Smith showed a great mix of toughness and outside run yesterday. Brad Hill showed how not to play. Don't want!

200 games, 3 or 4 top 10 BnF finishes and Life membership probably means Hoops and Chris Johnson shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. .
Was a tounge in cheek comment really...Footskills are important yes, but toughness and leadership is far more important for me

He may be outside but his got some nice moves through traffic and his foot skills are pretty neat.
He reminds me a bit of Wingard. His very good overhead and just as good when the ball hits the deck.
Great goal sense as well.

It's taken Isaac Smith a few years to build himself into the running midfield beast he is today
