I'm not an avid watcher of the underage games or draft guru, but from what i've seen, read and heard and what I know of our list (well let's be honest, holes everywhere) I would like us to go somewhere like this ideally...

Pick 1: Weitering. Probably picks himself really. Done deal.

Pick 8: Weideman. Think he has more tools than even Schache, who is think while being dominant at junior level is quite one dimensional. Lovely kick, good size and athleticism. Might struggle to make it to pick to pick 8 but is a somewhat unknown on exposed form with his injuries. Fingers crossed. Curnow another who would be good here but could too be gone.

Pick 19/20/21: Firstly I'd love to see Ah Chee last to here, gives us a bit of a Rioli type (sorry, Hawthorn player comparisons don't end here) and has time to develop as a finish/polish player we will need as our list grows, especially given Menzel and Yarran departures. Clayton Oliver is another I'd like here, has a bit of Jordan Lewis about him and you can never have too many of them. Come on like a bolt and has a rugged style and build. Good country lad ;) Gresham here too to give us some midfield polish, run and good skills would be delicious as well. However if we go Curnow at 8, feel McKay might be the right way to go instead of one of these boys to get another big in.

SOSOS to obviously round us out at the draft and develop in the Gunstan/Lynch mould.

Maybe we snap up Andrew Moore as a DFA/PSD?

Also Pick 11?

Weitering is effectively a year younger than Curnow and a lot of other highly touted potential draftees, yet he bosses about with the best of them.

We couldn't possibly overlook Weitering..............we couldn't...........could we?
I don't see it. Weitering fits our rebuild perfectly. Gun KPP with exceptional leadership qualities and a massive scope for impovement.
Would not be surprised if SOS did go Weitering@1 and Collins@8-11-19. Collins now 194cm
That gives us our two key defenders for the next decade.
Our Key Forwards can be added in future drafts or FA.

I think you're right but now we have 4 weeks of speculation leading into the draft........like usual, except we hold some big tickets, this time around.

That #8 and #11 will be very interesting and I'm now getting more and more drawn into H. McKay. Agile 200cm underage player that looks the part.

O.K. today it's: #1 Weitering #8 Clarke #11 McKay #19 Ah Chee :)

Weideman will not slide to #8.

Both Melbourne and Essendon have 2 picks before #8 and both teams need another quality KPF to support Hogan and Daniher respectively.

I see it going this way:

Carlton - #1 > Weitering, #8 > Mathieson, #11 > Collins/McKay, #19 Clarke/Gresham/Oliver
Brisbane - #2 > Schache
Melbourne - #3 > Parish , #7 > Curnow
Essendon - #4 > Weideman, #5 > Francis
Gold Coast #6 > Milera

Mathieson by contrast has me very much unconvinced he'll be up to scratch at AFL level

Disposal seems to consistently be air balls and handballs into traffic.

I'm not a recruiter by any means, but if a player can't look clean at U/18's, I don't think they will at AFL
It's interesting. His write up suggests he is the next mid in line after Parish. Inside but certainly doesn't look to have the vision of Cripps or the ability to get the ball to his intended target. Not an impressive tape at all.

Would we be going for say 2x KPP and 2x midfielders...

#1 Weitering
#8 Mathieson/Oliver
#11 McKay (Plenty of time to develop in this rebuild)
#19 Clarke/Gresham

It'll be exciting having actual talent in the reserves developing. Let's just hope the Northern Blues can be competitive next year so that they can develop.

Surely there is a chance Weirering will end up a forward. You take a good forward over a good defender any day of the week. I think club will trial him both ends and if he does well as a forward it is possible he will stay there. It is year one in the rebuild so just because he goes forward not back doesn't mean we can't get another defender in the next few years.

AFL DRAFT (In order of preference. Obviously if one slips to next pick they would jump in front of order)
#1 -> Jacob Weitering
#8 -> Aaron Francis / Sam Weideman / Charlie Curnow / Wayne Milera
#11 -> Callum Ah Chee / Harley Balic / Kieran Collins / Harry Mckay
#19 -> Jade Gresham / Ryan Burton / Mitchell Hibberd / Daniel Rioli
#59 + #60 + 113 -> Jack Silvagni

I guess that's the appeal of getting Collins at #11.

Whilst both are known KPD... partners in crime... they were thrown forward during different stages this year.
