His highlights were unconvincing af.

However all the experts who actually watch u/18 games consider him to be one of the top midfielders.

That name though...
It is a worry when your highlights tape doesn't have any highlights. Also apparently tested badly at the combine.

Interesting that Weiderman and Curnow are talked up after not playing the championships and much TAC this year. There are some in the phantoms that don't rate them in contract to the Brett Andersons on the footy media.

Just spotted a nice comment about Collins on Twomey's blog.
Kieran Collins at pick 11 might be a bit too high for some, but might be around the right mark for others. Former Hawthorn recruiter Gary Buckenara told the Road to the Draft podcast recently he ranked Collins as the third best player in the pool.

It's interesting. His write up suggests he is the next mid in line after Parish. Inside but certainly doesn't look to have the vision of Cripps or the ability to get the ball to his intended target. Not an impressive tape at all.
In fairness, didn't Rogers say he hadn't seen a player (Cripps) with such vision in 20 years?

Am I the only one who's super pissed Ess got 4 and 5. You watch them take two big bodied players with X Appeal in Francis and Curnow. Seriously for me this is one major downside of last week
Sort of know what you mean but they did lose a player they could ill afford to lose to gain that #5

Even though we got that #11 in the end, I would have been just as happy to hang onto #20 & #21.
That would have given us three players in a row, given we're holding the #19.............something nice about having these back to backs..

I've only seen his youtube video but McKay compares to Tom Lynch at times... and then Hampson at other times.

What are our thoughts on him folks?

I was going off his write up when I said we should get him and the fact that there is nobody else around that mark. If Curnow fell to 8 though, I would leave McKay out and just keep the mobile set up going.

Looks way better on the ground than Hampson does. Reckon his second efforts are pretty good. Tall and marks at the highest point. At times though I did see a little Kepler Bradley in there. Solid, but not spectacular is how I read Harry. Not sure if that is enough at #11 but we've lost 3 talls and probably another with Fields delisting not official yet. Only Weitering in and we have zero tall depth. Foster might have to play if we get an injury.

Looking at the talent around our picks though, I'd prefer best available. Must find a tall DFA or hope Jones actually does something.

Actually just realised GWS having pick 10 now is a blessing as it means we move up one spot in the pecking order RE getting non academy kids. So it's as if we have pick 10 now of the likely live picks, if you know what I mean.

Still think it'll be unlikely one or more of Weideman, Francis or Curnow will be available at 8. And I don't like Mathieson bec he doesn't look like he has much class.

I can't see us taking Burton given his injuries - we'd be scared of another Menzel.

Which leaves Milera or Balic and I think you go the local boy Balic. So it's Balic at 8 IMO. Balic is class and I think Carlton under Bolton will only pick class users of the ball.

In line with the class and local boy theme I reckon we go Tucker at 10.

Then you hope Collins is there at 19 and if not you go a Mckay. So you get a tall at 19.

I just think we have to get mids ASAP to make the side competitive ASAP else we risk being a basket case like Melb.

Talls can be got via FA and trade later. And anyhow we get Weitering, Collins/Mckay, SOSOS under my plan so we get four talls anyhow inc Plowman.

I know Tucker is more a HB but I think he will progress to midfield eventually.

I think Milera is class but he's a tallish skinny type which concerns me, whereas Balic and Tucker just look more solid.

Like Gresham as well. Small but real good user.

I think there is a chance we get a slider at pick 8, the fact that GC were willing to trade down from 3 to 6 and then tried to downgrade further to our pick 11 tells you that they are looking at someone a bit "out there".

I saw that SA versus Vic Country game on TV and even though Francis didn't have a good game, I really liked his aggression, I think he was in a way trying to hard to impress, he looks a huge talent. I hope we can get him

Just watching a heap of Gresham footage. He is everywhere. Uses the ball well, not a big kick but not too bad, plenty of pace, knows where to run and how to get involved. Why is he being talked about at a low teens pick? Is it just height?

From what I just watched I want him ... a lot. I'd even take him earlier and get the other McKay later instead.
