I don't need to do any of those things, I am basing my thoughts on what I see.

Put it this way, if we are going to take a mid-sized player and the choice is between Milera & Oliver, I'd be voting for Oliver every day of the week.
No arguments here; luckily for us we may just be in a position to take both ;)

Ok that makes sense Bec to be honest Blues would be out of their mind to take Milera. Go Home has been doing the rounds big time.

I think we will play it by ear on the night. I think if Burton isn't taken by 8 and based on Intel RE other clubs possible preferences we might try and get him at 19, unless our medicos think he's good to go at 8 or 11.

ODN I think it's the leap as well as pace that is the concern.

I still think we will avoid Matheison and will fancy Gresham simply bec kicking skills will be the main priority - of course they need to have nous and ability to find it but they should all have that else they wouldn't be in the reckoning as ealry picks
Matheison is a ripping kick.... Both are accumulators and both use the ball well I'd be happy with either.

Kernahan. Bradley. Bosustow. Naley. Campo. Blackwell. Dorotich. Hunter.
Half these guys wouldn't have passed the BF scrutiny tests:

Naley - too short.
Bosustow - too short to play as a key fwd. Will struggle to mark the ball against bigger opponents.
Hunter - too skinny, looks a bit weak.
Bradley - outside receiver, no inside game.
Dorotich - could get exposed at times.

Latest whispers suggesting Oliver could go at #3 to the Dees and Essendon has interest in him at 4/5 also. Unlikely he will be available at our pick 8. Also some rumours Essendon are looking at Burton with one of those early picks and he is well and truly in the mix along with Oliver, Parish, and Francis.

I think we will land one of Weideman, Francis, McKay, or Curnow at 8 and I'd be fine with any of those guys.

I get the feeling it will be 1 of Mckay, Oliver or Milera that drops to Pick8. I'll be happy with either. Just can't see Curnow, Francis or Weideman still on the board.

If we go tall with McKay at 8, i would like Balic at 11

If we go a Mid with 8, i'd like to punt on Burton at 11

How much does McKay look like the Adelaide version of Kurt Tippett?

Great ground level skills, athleticism, a strong mark and great ability to bring others into the play.

If it comes down to him vs Weideman it'll be tough to pick.

His ankle clearly still isn't right. The big question is, will it ever be ......... He may slip to #11, and ild take him there. Would probably take him at #8 if noone else was available .......

Some are saying we should go Schache and Collins, I would prefer Weitering and Weideman :D
But think of all the romance novels we could get from Schache Collins...

Hmm, not sure of that comparison tbh. He is more a Joe Daniher type

Think if it came down to a choice between Weideman and McKay, I'd be leaning towards Weids.

With Kreuzer, Phillips, Gorringe, Wood and Korchek on the list, in addition to Casboult, I believe a mobile, breakaway, leading forward will be more important than a 200cm contested mark / part-time ruck. Our forward line for the last few seasons has been very static, and McKay looks to be the type of forward that uses his height to bring the ball down in a pack situation. We need to transform our forward line and bring it into the modern era - everyone working in concert to create space for forwards to lead into, and a range of targets to reduce predictability. McKay, though he may be of a higher quality than our current talls, would give us nothing we don't already have.

Not to say that McKay won't be a good player, and if Weideman is gone I'd still be happy with McKay - but in terms of our forward line dynamic, Weideman appears more suitable.

Regardless of which way we go, how good is it to be in a position where we have the chance at 8 and 11 (or thereabouts) to pick two of what should be 3-4 very, very good players for a change. Will actually enjoy watching the NB's next season...will be a fair bit of young talent running around..

Kruezer, Phillips and Gorringe are all Ruckman, who can rest forward. I see McKay as a pure forward who can ruck if needed. I think when McKay bulks up he will be a Lynch type CHF

In the brief bit of the highlights he also has a bit of Roughy about him in the way he moves. Looks a bit of a 'lumberer' but seems to have good ground skills.

Does he have a bit of mongrel in him ??

If Francis is available at 8 and we pass on him.

Would be a dream result if he ends up being the slider.
I would also be disappointed if we passed up Francis, but with all these other sliders I doubt he will be there

Question is going to be whether we play Kreuzer, Phillips and Gorringe as pure ruckmen. The latter two have come over with the hopes of getting more opportunity, and Gorringe has expressed a desire to play the Blicavs/Stanley tall utility role if possible. I'd be very surprised if we didn't try and turn one of them into a key forward. With that in mind, a leading forward would be higher on the list of priorities in my book.
