God damn! Every time I try something, or think of an invention, it's already invented!

Although that has a few too many random on it like Paige.

I needed to add Brett Anderson but also needed more phantoms that included picks 31-50ish

Sorry to burst your bubble but I also did a consolidated draft thread back in 2007 and 2008. I also tried to bring together the various descriptions from (burgertron, foj1, knightmare, knightwheeler, quigley etc.) so that people could get a better view of the players.

The hardest part about the consolidated order was applying weighting factors on unselected players, weighting factors on different sources (i.e. Paige = 5, Knight = 10), etc. This was before the AFL had their Draft Hub with videos, etc.

How did it pan out? Was the result close to your consolidated draft? Or at least within the range of say 1-3, 3-5, 5-10 etc?

Think we will still get a pretty good player with our first pick. Just like Maynard around that pick last year hope they can be pushing for a game from mid year.

As for the later picks in a supposed weak
draft as long as we avoid a Toby Thoolen like selection (was pick 47 in 2007) I'll be happy. What a stinker of a pick that was.

As close as anyone gets but it was always weighted towards the Bigfooty Phantoms because there was a greater quantity (more data) and I attempted to include every phantom whether it was up to pick 10 or pick 100. I was also keeping all phantoms on my spreadsheet so I would have knightmares revision 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. and it was hard to have a degradation factor for phantoms that were done very early.

The main things that came out of it for me where:
- The closer to the draft date the Phantom was done the more accurate in general.
- I have a much greater appreciation of people like knight, snoop, Chris, etc. that put up early phantoms.
- I also appreciate people who don't have sheep mentality. People like Quigley who just go with what they think rather than being influenced by others.

$1.20 odds that Hine says post draft, "we were really pleased (insert name here) fell to us" and something along the lines of "we had him higher on our draft board" or "we didn't expect him to be there at our pick".

Bookmark it.

Whilst part of me would consider it refreshing to hear, he can't really say, "It's a weak draft, we didn't really want to take anyone, but we had to. It'll be a total surprise if this kid makes it."

I agree. It was interesting just seeing how similar Emma Quayle, Cal Twomey and Sam Landsberger's were. Almost a copy for the first ten-fifteen on some.

Then there was Snoop and Knightmare who, although the top line was similar, the later picks changed it up (see Sam Skinner) and made it interesting.

AFL.COM just had Murray Weideman Sam and his dad on there pre draft show.

The more I see the kid I want him at the pies. Murray was saying how much he would like to see him in black and white.
Hope we keep an eye on him and Murray gets in his ear. Bring on the 2017 trade period.

Crying shame to see him going to another Victorian club. Sigh.

I'm just having a bit of fun TD. I am not interested in starting any threads. I just wanted to see if you would react. LOL you did. :D
Dave can smell it coming. He was typing his reply before you even hit the 'post reply' button. Its his 6th sense kinda thing;)
