Wow, no NicNat. Very very stiff.

I really don't rate a panel that includes Frawley, KB and Richo - three dead set spuds.

Didn't expect Pendles to make it given our woeful 2nd half.

How's your math? I only count 1 spud [emoji12]

The Irish would be worried about those spuds too.

Seriously enough with the trolling, how do the mods not see through your shit?
Congratulations TG, first person I've ever had to ignore on BF.
His statement on this occasion wasn't too out of line. Which Collingwood player do you think deserves a spot in the all Australian team? I have seen several best 22's this week, and none of them included any of our players.

Coaches association AA team captain?

I think Pendlebury is probably a victim of his own lofty standards, even at 75% of his best he surely is better than most, and I can't see that e.g. Mundy was as good as him.

I think they overdosed on small forwards, while Betts and Wingard were certainties, Rioli was lucky to be there. Josh P Kennedy, Neale and Naitanui were surprising omissions, but delighted to see Heath Shaw get a spot.

AA is incredibly media driven. All the speculation surrounding the side, every journo and his dog picking it weeks in advance, obviously influences the official selectors. In saying that, I'm surprised Marcus Bontempelli wasn't named in every other position that either Rioli, Rance, Stringer or Wingard weren't.

Pendlebury rated the 3rd best player of the year by the Champion Data AFL player ratings system. Coaches AA captain.

Victim of his own consistency and it's a shame that some of the least intelligent football minds have robbed him of a 6th straight AA. People like Luke Darcy and Danny Frawley are media personalities and listening to them talk about footy is painful. Don't do enough research to give a good commentators insight let alone pick the team of the year.

Gibson, Rioli, Riewoldt, Deledio the mistakes in the team for me. Hawks have had an interesting year as they have produced no absolute lock for the AA (Mitchell for me but not everyone) yet will probably still win the flag in my opinion.

Dustin Martin would've been a better fit than either of his team mates. A few obvious candidates to replace the 4 I mentioned. Don't have a problem with Gray like many of you, he has been very good.

The issue is you get too many cooks with their own agendas in the kitchen picking the team, they all negotiate with each other and like any negotiations you can get some pretty absurd compromises.

Yep, they all have their own love-children. Is Gerard Healy on the panel? He'll get Shaun McKernan in their one day if its the last thing he does.;)

Re the team, I don't have too many issues. Rioli & Jack Riewoldt the surprises to me . JPK & NN were stiff. I can live with Pendlebury missing out considering they seem to have at least picked a team in the positions they play. A lot of good midfielders this year.

It also makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit to see Alex Rance in there. He goes OK but is one of the most over-hyped players getting around. And a dirty bastard too imo. A lot of little 'accidental' tunnelling & clumsy spoils etc.

But is is necessary to abuse him like that? Whether or not you like him, it's general forum etiquette to not abuse other users.

But I guess you're just insulting him for attention.

To be fair Pendles probably wasn't even in the top 20 this year. Had a solid year, but wasn't an absolute superstar this year unfortunately :(
