As we near the approach for the 2015 finals and most teams have (or are approaching) a full strength side I just thought it would be interesting to post the most popular players picked at this point. This probably would've been a good exercise throughout the season, say at 4 round intervals, but meh...
Anyway, here it is after Rd 16: (with Ownership % / Average, bench players in Italics)
DEF: Saad (39/82), Hodge (33/111), Shaw (31/108), McIntosh (28/62), Oxley (27/82), McKenzie (24/57), Hamling (23/62), McDonald (22/100)
MID: Fyfe (66/125), Pendlebury (44/116), Steele (41/80), Lambert (32/46), Dangerfield (28/119), Cripps (24/94), Ablett (23/134), Kennedy (22/108), Selwood (19/96), Rich (19/82), Beams (17/114)
RUC: Goldstein (39/127), Naitanui (29/103), Cox (26/0)

So assuming all are fit (HA!) and not suspended (HA!), and using Ablett as the highest averaging player as the Captain this side averages:
DEF = 463 / 6 = 77.16
MID = 906 / 8 = 113.25
RUC = 230 / 2 = 115
FWD = 608 / 6 = 101.33
= 2341 (including Abletts 134 as C)
Blicavs (20), Newnes (20), B. Goddard (20), H. Goddard (19) and Clark (18) were the unlucky ones to miss out as more popular % wise than Selwood, Rich and Beams but with no room left in their respective positions.
