Joshua Schache probably the best tall forward in the draft as it stands. 8 goals from 2 games in the TAC Cup with a bag of 7 in one of the games.

Others will start announcing themselves as they usually do. For example, Karl Brown was added to Vic Metro's U18's side this year after booting 8 goals in a TAC Cup game. Big body, leadership potential and a good contested mark. Had some injury problems last year and missed a fair chunk of this years pre season.

And well to be honest, it'd be nice seeing another Brown in the side as a tall forward!

His old man played for the bears yeh?
Hopefully lure Joshua up north with the prospect of 'playing with brisbane like his old man'

Weren't we saying the same thing early last year. We couldn't find a top KPF then McCartin came in mid-late. Plus there was also Wright that some were saying could be up there.

Last year at this time it seemed like they were too many options and just about any club with a top 5 pick could get a highly rated KPF. I don't think anyone is saying that's the case this year.

Yeah, that's correct. His father Laurence played for the Bears. Played 29 games for 64 goals. He was also a tall forward. What also is interesting is that we'll likely have the #1 draft pick this year. And Joshua's father Laurence was actually drafted by the Bears at selection #1 in the 1990 Mid Year Draft.

Stars aligning maybe? Personally have him in the 5-15 range at the moment but plenty of time to climb.

Father unfortunately passed away in 2002, would be a nice little story if his son made it to his old mans club (would be a tough little nugget too having to go through all that at a young age no sam docherty or billy longer about him)

Really? no top 5 gorillas? ... I was just saying its time to start getting excited about the draft... now what do I get excited about? probably the bye...
Josh Schache looks a likely prospect, but I actually think we already have a future monster in Andrews, just needs time to mature and put on some muscle

In fairness, Sam Docherty's old man was ill when we drafted him and passed away not long after he got back to Melbourne........

yeahh its true, though I remember when he was leaving part of his issue was adjusting to the lifestyle, not having mates outside footy (bit like yeo).

Paperone's father is unfortunately also struggling with cancer and his girlfriend is also up West, but hes toughing it out with the club who gave him his first chance (not really relevant I guess since everyone is different)

Pap's father passed away a little while ago now. Not all that long after he resigned. Pretty sure his girlfriend has moved to brissy with him also!!

The new formula for 2012 and beyond takes into account premiership points, percentage, finals appearances and injury rates for a club over several seasons.

The new formula will make it harder for a club to be granted a priority pick after just one poor season, or that a pick will be given before the first round of a draft.

If 2015 continues that way it has started I wonder if we would apply for one. Several bad seasons, crap percentage, bad list of injuries over the years and oh so many first round draft picks leaving.

Priority Picks tradable? I'd personally trade it on if possible.
Not sure on the rules but think there was some talk of that with discussions on Melbourne getting one or not. If they are announced before trade week I cant see a reason they wouldn't be

I would assume high numbers of injuries would weaken, not strengthen your chance of a priority pick.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. I mean, high number of injuries to key players certainly affects the side for that year and would be looked at as so. The same injuries won't affect you for numerous years, if they do it'd come down to the fitness/condition guys at the club.

I would say that was the case throughout the whole time the expansion clubs were draft hogging. It would really sting if the talls arent top 5 potential in this draft should we get pick 1-5 like it looks
