Anyway, sorry to everyone for my terrible effort to figure out the numbers earlier in this thread.

I think the key number tonight is 11 - if Hipwood goes before then, the third in our quintet of picks gets moved back, and won't be a factor in matching a bid for Keays, which likely means our highest live pick post the academy players is somewhere in the 40s.

If Hipwood goes at 12 or below, then we'll most likely have pick 36 in the draft after matching Keays' bid, if everything goes as scripted. I think, but I'm not sure, that's also the case if Hipwood goes at 11.

Can't wait for Schache to officially be a Lion.

Weird year. Since the players we're taking are a foregone conclusion waiting for bids and to see who we'll be in a position to take with our fourth pick is the only real surprises we can get. Not complaining, just a strange, new feeling.

Your numbers were good, if we're required to use that 3rd pick on Hipwood, we lose that pick but the remaining points are credited for other academy players (First round selections only.)

Ah, not quite. That's only where you're matching a first round bid with one pick with a points value higher than what you need to match. That was my mistake.

My numbers carried over the points even when multiple picks were used to match a first round bid, which is wrong.

Bottom line, it's not quite as good as what I thought.

According Callum on the live fred certainty for Schache to become a lion and Weitering a Blue. THANK YOU FOOTY LORDS, now lets see what the club does from there.

Why can't they do it like the NBA.

Get Huddo to say:

"With the first pick in the 2015 AFL draft, the Carlton Blues select: Jacob Weitering.

Oh well, Schache time!
