I saw Keays as a 10 year old and I have never seen such a well developed footballer, as a 12 year old I couldn't believe how much he had dropped away, watching his tapes now he is a quintessential accumulator of the footy, with a left foot that can really hurt!
Have you seen the schache and Francis videos? If we can get one of these 2 along with keays and a ready made KPF the future could be very bright.. Just gotta keep them but I hope the Brisbane bears link with schache could be a positive

Francis also has a "Lions" link Refer here

Can't see him being available at 3 - 6 if he keeps on dominating like he has been

I do like the Francis kid though; looks a good country lad that Clarke can take under his wing. But at only 191 - is he a 3rd tall like Gardiner?

I personally believe he would be better suited to be a midfielder with us like a Fyfe type of player.

I can see us with pick 3, 4 at worst.. Probably 2-3 wins in us for rest if year.. wouldn't be suprised if GC past us when they get healthy and still a Q clash to come.. Carlton hopefully take weitering first.. Wouldn't be unhappy at all with Francis but we could pick up our 12 year key forward here!!

If Dixon stays at GC then I think they would go for Francis and possibly Parish due to needs but if they lose him then they'll go Schache

have heard somewhere awhile ago that Eade wants Day to go back as a defender, Wright is a forward/ruck leaving only Lynch as a pure forward. I hope I'm
wrong though as I want Schache badly and think that with his addition and most probably Hipwood we are covered for KPP.

Yeah, he'll be top 3 if he keeps this up.

Francis, probably top 5 at this stage. He is someone you'd be drafting with the plan to develop him into a midfielder if your taking him that high imo.

Yeah, leave them with a decent future forward set up of Wright and Lynch as the main two forwards. They'd find it hard to pass on Schache if Dixon left.

I haven't seen much of Francis, so I'm interested in your (and others') take on:

- whether you think his abilities would translate well to the midfield?

- whether Francis could play a Stringer-style undersized KPF role? I'm not really asking whether he's a 'similar' player to Stringer, but would his attributes be suited to playing as a full sized forward in a role something like what we were asking Dawson to play in a couple of games?

- whether he could function as a HBF type rather than (for example) a similar type to Gardiner?

He could become a very good midfielder. Neat kick, can take contested marks and can go forward and kick goals. There's a lot of potential there, I think he is the type who can adapt to whichever role is required of him.

I don't think Francis would be an ideal candidate in that role, I'd say he probably could play that role. But I think if he were to join Brisbane, we'd be looking at him to become a tall midfielder who can push forward.

Very capable of playing a HBF role. Very adaptable player, can play tall or small.

Francis will start back before getting time in the middle. There's a lot to like though. Quite agile and high football IQ.

Having had a quick glance at the kids mentioned all the ones that look like going early seem to be good gets, don't think we could go wrong with any of them. Geez some of them are built already, they look ready to step up to the next level almost straight away.

could be a stretch but could we train Keays into a small defender? At least for the first bit of his career. he is a similar physically to nick smith. his ability to find the footy and kick goals will always be there but with a lot of players on the list already in his position could he start out there?

Reuben William #14 - Qld vs Dandenong 25/4/15

To be added to Draft Video Thread Here

Reuben could also end up being a future defender option. provides great rebound, hope we pick him up as a rookie. Jack rolls (2016 academy member) a longer term small defender option as well

Not worth it. We've got a couple of guys that should continue to get better in that role. Small defenders can be found deep in the draft.

We should get a decent tall in this years draft. Collins, Weitering and Schache will all go top 10. Interesting that I've seen some call this a relatively weak draft. I'd say it's probably a bit better than last years draft actually. Top end talent is certainly better than last years too.

I'd probably rather Collins over Weitering at this stage going into the future. There's a lot to like about him going forward. One of the youngest kids in the draft and arguably the best KPD at shutting his opponent down. Just ticks a lot of boxes so to speak, having a late year birthday is a big plus too.

So he's basically Brendon Goddard MK2? Think that's the player comparison that sums him up from what you're saying.

I just watched the video Crusha posted (thanks!) on Kieran Collins and he looks a great KPD option. Big built, good contested mark and a pretty good user of the ball from what I could see.

I think just about every draft since 2010 has apparently been a weak draft and the later it gets in the year the less the 'weakness' gets talked about. I think the 2008 draft had something to do with expectations being so high.
