If it has to be done that way fine and it will create some quality hatred between the clubs.
And the emotional attachment that both have for the club would make for a happy draft night for both the fans and the two players(Schache and Francis).
Ive heard about Schaches, but what is Francis's attachment to us?

His late brother was a massive Lions fan. He passed away either the end of last year or the end of 2013 can't remember which.
Oh, thats sad. Would love a player like him play his heart and sole for our club and his late Bro. He is my Fav player coming through this draft by a fair margin and if we took him ahead of Schache I would be happy. But i know we need that tall forward. If we got both id be fist pumping

If we had picks 1 & 2 I wouldn't be trading either. To get two high end talents at the one time is too good to pass up. Schache and Francis will do nicely.
totally agree... those picks shouldnt be up for trade unless another Beams type wants to come north

If we could trade 2 for someone like Hogan I'd jump at the chance.
If Hogan was up for grabs I would be willing to trade both pick 2 and Aish but it is a pipe dream.
pick 2 if we got that... Chris Judd in his prime couldnt even get pick 1. I think you always need to keep it. Especially when we need a tall forward badly

Fwiw keays at 12 and hipwood 19 on wallaces mock top 20 on tac cup future stars this morning.
Missed the top 10 but assume schace to us at 1. He kicked 5 again in the tac cup this week.

So is Hipwood a back or a forward?? It's going to be very hard for us to find the kpf we need if we beat Carlton and the Suns in the next month.

Id say back. Clarke, Andrews, Hipwood with Gardiner the support is a really good defensive group going forward. Bit of depth with Beasley going alright as well.

I'm worried that Schache won't be available if we don't have pick 1 or 2.

3 big tall forwards. I dont think we would have them all in the same team.
I wouldnt mind trying Hipwood go forward.

Reckon we will probably win 1 more game this year against Carlton. So we will finish 17th, get a PP so get picks 2 and 3 in the first round. Draft schache and francis, trade aish to carlton for pick 19. pick 19 and 20 and any other 3rd/4th rounders required to take keays/hipwood from our academy and get dixon for free via psd. simples.

3 tall forwards is the goal for most teams

Aside from schache who are the other 'big tall forwards' that would make up 3 next year? mcstay is more a swingman/3rd tall, freeman/close we'll see, dixon not on list.
forgot to mention they talked up keays a bit on tac cup. Showed some highlights said he do,I anted the carniv and win div 2 bnf also that he gets 20-25 possessions playing senior neafl and that gives clubs a good reading of him playing against afl listed players regularly.
Do any of our reserves watchers have a feel for if keays was available would he have deserved a senior run this year? Eg ahead of say Robertson or cutler the few times they've been in.

Gives us flexibility down back. Chances are they all wont be fit the same time anyway, but Clarke could play on a 3rd tall, leaving the young guys to take the genuine talls and help out as 3rd man up. Gardiner is freed up to play on the smaller types. If needed, Gardiner could play taller due to injury so there is good flexibility within those 4 as a defensive unit.
Up forward i think you persist with McStay as a 3rd tall. Think he is the type that would really benefit from getting the 3rd defender. Schache im not sure would be playing right away, but long term him at FF with hopefully Close at CHF. If we can get Dixon, Id go with Dixon at FF and Close CHF with McStay still 3rd tall. Schache then gets some time to develop and grow. Dixon is likely to miss games, Schache could play 5-10 senior games just filling in to get his taste.
That kind of set up with Green, Bundy, Taylor, Zorko buzzing around has the talent to kick plenty of goals. Supplimenting them with the likes of Beams, Hanley and Rich from the midfield that can kick goals.

Schache is a fwd Weitering back ? is that right. We really need to take the best forward in the draft
Yup. Weitering is also managed by Pickering, and Schache's said he'd be happy to go to Brisbane to finish off what his dad started there.

That's right. The problem is Carlton need the forward as bad as we do. The Suns would probably take Schache as well. It's almost like we need to finish bottom to get what we need to move forward.
