There seems so much for all three clubs to play for. Or...not play for.

I can't help but cheer for the Lions and now find myself cheering for Gold Coast and Carlton...but not when we play them.

Strange, strange times.

I think I will simply hope we play well, be competitive and leave the results in the lap of the gods.
Well, by all accounts there is a decent gap between the top 3 draft prospects & the rest of the field, and the bottom three teams are all but set, only the order remains to be determined. Seems like Que Sera Sera all over again!

The amount of games we've gone into this year where I thought "wow, that 22 looks pretty damn good..."

Suns still have quality at both ends. If we keep turning it over at will (which seems to be our MO at the moment)... Lynch and Dixon will kick 12 between them.

I don't think they will. Has a key forward had a big game at the Gabba this season? I think we defend fairly well at home.

1 point. 1 lousy point.

If the plastics had kicked 1 point more, then I could have been happy watching us flog them, knowing we were assured of Schache. Now I am confused.

QLD Draft Combine invites:

NEAFL
(Queensland)Dyson Budarick – Labrador
Wylie Buzza – Redlands
Gareth Hunt – Aspley
Paul Hunter – Redlands
Jesse Joyce – Palm Beach Currumbin
Max Spencer – Palm Beach Currumbin
Matt Uebergang – Redland
Josh Wagner – Aspley
Nick Weller – Brisbane Lions Academy

No noms for Keays or Hipwood.

Other clubs must be pretty certain we are taking them. You would have thought they would have wanted to see testing on them regardless.

Uebergang is interesting. Seemed like he fell off the face of the Earth for a while there.

That's qld combine, not national. They've already been released.

Hunter's a ruck isn't he. Could be a good get for us in the rookie draft. I like Weller. Hopefully Ueber gets a chance. Looks like a Birchall/Gilbert type down back.

Are Hunt and Wagner both mature agers?

I think TBD if feeling the full effect of it being Monday morning.

Hunt is a mature ager, Wagner isn't.The latter looked promising but has plateaued from what I've seen of him. Hunt at the very least would be a handy ressies ruck, although I haven't seen him much this year.

I thought the younger Wagner got invited to the combine and this Wagner must be the older brother.

There can be significant movement between now and the year's end as the TAC cup finals and final rounds play out. Some injured kids can be overlooked ,as McGrath was, which is also a factor. Yestin Eades is a case in point. Bottom age playing finals last year, very interesting back story, oozes class, starting to put the foot down lately. There will be very good footballers available at pick, 30. I just hope this may help us get an extra Academy kid or two , such as William and or Buzza.

When was the last time a Queenslander who was invited to the state combine got drafted, either as a senior or a rookie? Anyone know?

Isn't that the list for the national combine?

Tom Fields technically. But he wasn't drafted in his combine year.

EDIT: Tom Bell in 2011 appears to be the last one.

ANOTHER EDIT: He was a top up player for us, apparently. I didn't know that.
