I know this will sound crazy but I would rather loose the last four games then see schache end up at Carlton. I know a lot of people believe Carlton would pick weitering if they end up with the number one pick, but if Carlton were to loose Henderson to Geelong, I think you would find them very interested in schache. So bring on the wooden spoon and schache.

I absolutely hate this year. Sadly, I have felt like this pretty well much from about round 8 or so. I hate myself for it but I frankly want all of his year over, the season, trade period and draft just to start afresh next year.

Were not tanking. We are terrible at the moment because of injuries, being a young inexperienced team and not having a key forward to kick to. IT's not like the club is trying to tank, but we are last on the ladder because of this factors.

I know posters say we need to tank, but I doubt Leppa or anyone in the organization are doing that. They would have the same view that we are a proud club with a proud heritage.

Terry Wallace (Future Stars) was extremely forthright that we should get a pick directly after our first one if Leuey was to leave (probably to Essendon or the Bulldogs who need a #1 ruckman).

Put up stats comparing James Frawley and the stats were fairly compelling.

Leuey 4 months older, but went 8 places higher in the draft a year earlier. Both a tad over 100 games (when leaving). Shifter chimed in that length of contract and dollar amount not the only things considered when they decide compensation, whilst Naaaafan Brown suggested that Leuey was on a fair wicket at the Lions so the deal would have to be a decent one for him to move.

I'd take Carlisle over a pick #2 if Essendon were involved, personally

If Carlton get the spoon they'll just rationalise it by trumpeting that they have the first pick and telling us all how it's going to revitalise them and move them up the ladder where they belong and blah blah bah. I'd rather they finish second last, which is just as ugly, and we wave the first pick in their face. Sick of us finishing nowhere and getting picks 4 to 7 and watching others speculate over who they are going to take with pick 1.

I totally get how you feel it's so conflicting and against everything I would usually think. The chance to get Schachey who is obviously connected to us and has a desire to be with us is huge and will make sure that the nasty taste we are having now will be long gone when we have Hippers, Schachey, Freeman and McStay putting defences under the pump. Let's bite the bullet now and get through the last 4 weeks. Bring on next year!!

By SMASH, I hope you mean by under 3 goals as that gets us a win, but keeps us in pole position for the #1 pick.

The Blues also have two somewhat winnable games after us in Melbourne and GWS

Does anyone know how the points system will work given the ranking Plough has put on Keayes at 9 and Hippers 19 this week? What does the 25% discount equate to in way of picks required? Sorry if this has been mentioned before but i feel Keayes will probably stay in top ten and Hippers will most likely drop to early 20's by the time of draft.

Who said tanking? Need to keep taking those meds mate. Just think finishing third last and getting another aish or finishing last and getting someone who just might stick around would be good for the future of our almighty club

Pick 19 = 948
With the 20% discount means we need 1934 points, that will be around 290 points deficit to carry into next year, after wiping out our 2,3,4,5 rounders.

There's been an amendment to the rules as well, so if Hipwood is bid on in the second round we can elect to take the deficit on our 2016 second round and not jepidise our first.

I think your confusing certain posters wanting to lose the last 4/5 games so we acquire Schache with the Brisbane Lions thinking.
For example, l am in the group where l hope we finish last so Carlton dont get him but l sincerely hope the Lions don't tank and give their all.

Like I said, have some ****ing dignity. I can't believe people like you who are happy that we're on the bottom of the ladder and a laughing stock of the AFL. Have some ****ing pride in the jumper we don't need a number 1 draft pick to win the ****ing league. We don't need Schache lets use our academy and train our own Schache and not beg the AFL of a ****ing priority pick we don't need it to win, what the club needs is the belief that we can win. I don't want the club to end up like Carlton and Melbourne and become addicted to losing.

If Brisbane have any picks left later on in the draft and Theo Thompson is still available we should not hesitate to pick him up. Browny suggested that we look to draft leaders and theo has leadership in his skin. Probably hasn't had the year he would have liked however I think he could be a steal. Once again l think you are confused. Some posters are entitled to want the number 1 pick as it provides hope. In this case it could net us a ten year elite forward. I say could, remember that.
You are confused with posters wanting Gold Coast and Carlton to win more games than us with the club. Carlton and Melbourne, the clubs, were tanking. Brisbane Lions isn't (well l sincerely hope they aren't). It is called being practical. It is so easy to say lets just wait and pray and hope that our academy can produce a Schache but in all reality, that could never happen. We have a rare opportunity to grab an key forward that wants to come to us.

And you saying i and others are happy that we are on the bottom of that ladder. What a load of BS by you mate. We are on the bottom of the ladder for the past 5 years and continually been having pick 4-7. Would l prefer that we get Schache as opposed to another Aish. Absolutly.

Just remember Ruse, this is a public forum and all opinions are that of the poster and not of the AFL club, so while people may prefer pick 1, they dont speak for the club. Stop being so childish and accept that people may have different views to u. You apparent would prefer 2 more meaningless wins which we wouldnt remember in 5 years time while others would prefer pick 1 that would set us up for 10 years which would ultimatly help us rise up the ladder to the finals and more. That doesn't mean l want the team to tank, it means l want Gold Coast and Carlton to win more games than others.

Couldnt agree more . I have watched the last 5 years of us constantly doing enough to miss out on that super elite talent at the pointy end of the draft . We have had longer (Pick 8) , Polec ( 5 ) used a brennan compo pick to move up to that , Mayes ( 8 ) , Aish 7. You get the 2nd or 3rd best midfielder with that what we get with Pick 1 is the number 1 Pick a key forward which we can build our hopes and future on. Winning two more meaningless games and going from 18th last to 17th or 16th could cost us more then just writing this season off. I can guarantee you that if Carlton finish last they will use the threat of taking Aish in the pre season draft in which we would get absolutely nothing for him. By finishing bottom we have more bargaining power to get better compo for aish as no pre season threat can be used plus it also potentially would allow us to do that to GC if they start wanting way overs for dixon. It would also allow us greater scope if leunberger goes in relation to comp pick. Also do we really want Weitering at pick 2 ? Only say this is cause he is managed by the Snake Pickering ( who has denied that carlton met with him and Aish ) even though it's public knoweldge that it did happen i can guarantee that if we get pick 2 we would more then likely go with Francis.

Sometimes you have to hot rock bottom before you find the way to the top again. In 1998 we finished last and the next year we played in a pre lim against North.
