You are joking....where was he when you needed him....you have to be a bloody useless ruckman not to get a game at the Western oval.

It's basil mate, he's anything but genuine

It's going to be an interesting draft, with how the trades/picks have fallen.

Our drafting seems straight forward enough thou, Schache, Hipwood, Keays and the next academy player bid on Id guess
Definitely interesting,
I'm super interested to find out who we intend on drafting as we have 5 spots, 2 minus the above you mentioned.
Personally I would like Chol and William, but guys like Wagner and Whitecross makes you wonder what way the club is going to go!

Whitecross re-signed for Hawthorn.

Article on Hipwood on AFL.com.au today. Starting to get excited about having him on our list (touch wood), and our stock of young talls. :thumbsu:

Geez...what potential. Kid takes screamers and slots top notch goals for fun in that video.

Could be a seriously scary prospect to handle in a few years time. Already got the size around the shoulders and neck; 3 pre-seasons and he could really fill out to a beast.

Hope he gets bid on after pick #10, but not so sure now

On Keays, he obviously did very well in the U18's, but how did he do in the QEAFL this past season against more mature bodies?
Pretty well I believe, and I'm pretty sure he was also good in the early season AIS games against VFL opponents

He'll need to lift his tackling a touch.
I've seen very few junior footballers who can properly tackle when in open company. They tend to get exposed when facing men. It is the one area where strength and maturity seem to play a bigger role than talent or technique. An exception was Bushy Copeland who, even as an 18yo, used to lay tackles on opponents like he was wrestling a steer at a rodeo.

So given Whitecross has re-signed, am I right in assuming Schache, Keays and Hipwood are pretty much certainties, and that remaining picks will be used to snag William and Chol?

I think Chol would be a good option to pick up, and the 5th and final spot on the senior list could be used on either Wagner or William. It seems to be a matter of opinion to who is the better prospect. Has anyone here got an opinion on these two young lads?

I'm not noticing Williams coming up in the well-regarded phantom drafts of late - but that doesn't mean a great deal. It all looks very fluid after about 20 and it only takes one recruiter to take a shine.

But I'm feeling more confident we'll get him without having to borrow points.

Chol had a good Allies game and a good combine. Seems to me more likely to get a club or two fired up.

For those interested the bigfooty phantom is up and running. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/2015-big-footy-phantom-draft.1116711/

So far Quigley has taken Schache at number two and matched bids on Hipwood (Pick 9 Melb), Keays (pick 21 Hawthorn), William (pick 51 Carlton), Wagner (pick 73 - not bid on).

Has also passed on Chol at pick 52 - Carlton

Still has pick 57 but guessing that's all our list spots gone I think so it will go unused.

Based on limited viewings, I personally would go:

1. William
2. Chol
3. Wagner

But it is very close. I would be happy with any 2 and will be slightly disappointed if/when we miss out on any.

Weller and Buzza two guys who hit very hard and defensively make a real difference.

Based on 3 championship matches I saw at Geelong POBT , and video footage of a few reserve's quarters, I would say this is the preferred order. I am a big wrap for William...love his strength and dash, however I am aware that he had a few scouts excited during the carnival. Hopefully his great back story has a happy ending...at the Lions !'
