Genuinely seems like he is a flight risk. Kind of expect to see him picked up. Dunno how the reserves would go with chol, smith and west all in the team

West up forward with the others rotating ruck bench and on the ball maybe

I think they'd do ok. I think Archie would be right to be concerned if Chol makes it to our rookie list. Chol already looks like a more natural footballer than Archie. I could see Chol playing CHB at some stage in the future, where I find it harder to see Smith managing that. The clock starts ticking even faster for Archie.

mute point, they won't take Schache, but if they did the club would happily snap up Weitering

Psst.. At the extreme risk of being uber forum grammar nerd, I think it's 'moot point' (i.e. subject to debate). ;)

Lol - I was thinking the same thing... but now that you've grammar nazi'd, I can grammar nazi you... Moot can mean 'raised for discussion/debate' (eg. Carlton's recruiting team mooted the idea of drafting Weitering), but more often means 'of little significance' (eg. discussion of who we would draft with our second pick if not for the academy is moot).

Fair enough - I have a micro-managing boss that is the ultimate grammar nerd but it still hasn't sunk in yet as you can see!

I recently learned they call them 'eggcorns' - mis-overheard phrases. I've seen that one written as 'mood point', 'mote point' and Joey on Friends even used 'moo point'.

Anyway - word nerd digression over ;) Cheers.

Melbourne's delisted Viv Michie. He could be handy. He had a good last five games this season, he's 23 and he played for Fitzroy Juniors...

I think if someone doesn't have the skills to stay on the Melbourne Demons' list, they probably don't have the skills to be on ours...

They were pretty happy to give up Stef Martin and don't forget Robinson was a Carlton reject.

Different regime. Under Neeld they got rid of a few senior players that went on to play some decent footy at their new clubs.

Carlton is a whole different story. If they are getting rid of players you know they will improve 10 fold and be guns at their new club.

See, Mitch had a great year, but still... I don't blame Carlton for getting rid of him. He needed a kick up the arse to make him pull his head in. We are lucky beneficiaries of that, but I don't blame them for the move. It's the second time in recent years they've had to sack a player for behavioural reasons for us to pick them up - Fev didn't change, hopefully time shows that Robbo has. Of course, Fev cost us an arm and a leg, and Robbo didn't, which just makes it even more backward.

Just on Archie - I'm curious if he'll stay at the lions when his contract is up having seen a video on his Instagram of him shooting hoops and with the Bullets coming back - I wonder what his chances are of a basketball contract with the Bullets would be at? He looks a pretty good basket baller and I wouldn't be disappointed for him if he got an opportunity with them. It would also free up a space for Chol or some other young tall on the lions list - win win!
