Hey guys, I have done a bit of a list review and draft preview for the Lions.

Maybe mention something about Merrett being in the twilight of his career and we have an immediate replacement in Clarke. Also please mention something about our young key forward stocks (e.g. Freeman, McStay, Close)

Actually scratch Hammelmann. Had it in my head that he was a Sunny coast boy but not sure now.

Nope. Sunshine Coast production line is: Drummond, Freeman & Hipwood. Austin Lucy (Essendon briefly), Alik Magin and Jake Crawford(GC) were on Afl lists while onetime academy hopeful Cain tickler was also a coast boy. Got a feeling Keefe might also be a coast lad but not confident.

Good job . Hanley hasn't really played across the HBF for a few years now, genuine midfielder these days.

Also if we locked Hipwood in our gym, he'd probably drown given the current state!

Yep Magin and Crawford from Pomona, Tickner from Noosa and Keefe from Gympie.

Looking at the draft order on the Afl website I notice Brisbane has mysteriously lost picks 42 and 78! Does anyone know the reason for this or is it a stuff up by the Afl. I hope the club is aware of this.

Laurence Schache wore the No.23 jumper during his football career and his son is set to don the same number, at the same club.

You've got one spot left on your list. Someone bids on an academy player. Are you able to only use points from one pick (even if you may actually have more "hidden" picks available) to match a bid?

Would be able to use a combination of the "hidden picks".

Kepe in mind that once we get to the fourth round though, we can match any bid with our last pick.

Seems optimistic but that would be huge. If my maths is correct, we'd keep pick 42 and our pick 41 would be shuffled back.

This means we'd have Schache, Hipwood, Keays plus picks 42 & 55 to play with.

Would surely be enough to fill our other two senior spots with any other academy players we like (if not someone else). Pick 42 could match a bid as high as pick 32 and pick 55 could match a bid of pick 42.

Together they could match a bid of 24. Shame we don't have another high second round prospect.

*This doesn't factor in pick shuffling from other club academy selections obviously.

42 would end up about five or six spots higher, too.

An excellent chance that we'd be able to use that late second rounder, and have a pick capable of matching any bids on William or Wagner if we wanted.
