Has to be some chance as he was named as one of our academy players open for bidding in late September

It's understood Curnow has made it clear to several non-Victorian clubs throughout the season that he would not like to move interstate.

Another one.
It seems for every drafted player who actually goes home, there are a couple more who indicated up front that they didn't want to be drafted by an interstate team. Wingard and Kavanagh we know about; there are no doubt many more.

Imagine the dilemma we'd be faced with if we'd lost? Weitering or Shache? Decisions decisions ha. Senses tell me there'd still be a lot of unhappy supporters regardless who we picked.I wonder if after we draft Schache any of those posters who had a meltdown after we beat the Bulldogs will admit they were wrong.

Last year we nominated six (?) and took three.Has to be some chance as he was named as one of our academy players open for bidding in late September![]()

Yeah, I'll be there. Might tweet some stuff depending on how distracted I get from the canapes on offer.

I don't remember the meltdowns, fortunately, but hopefully it vindicates the principle that you try to win every game and count on everything else working itself out.

It would be the responsible thing for Carlton and Melbourne to do. Give those poor kids a chance.A sneak peek at what the live draft system looks like.. how embarrassing would it be if a team accidentally selected "pass"

One would hope there would be an 'Are you sure?' with default set to 'no' associated with that button!
I'm not against a Draftee coming out and saying that thou, and don't think he should be trying to silence or shame future draftees from doing the same (Not At all saying you are Ironmonger, just a general comment)
It's good that he's said that, better than leading a team down the garden path, to turn his back on them after his first contract. It strengthens the Academy process, until those states start regularly producing the same standard talent as traditional States, and shows theres more to Homesickness concerns than the players that walk out of a club.
I think if he was a standout selection, that potentially raises more issues thou.
Good to see them working on there chemistry already
