Yes Dave, but the point is that most of the time, the player wouldn't be worth throwing away 2 or 3 talented players for. Remember the hissy fits that were thrown when we didn't pick up Xavier Ellis at pick 2 in '05? Would any of us be happy if we'd taken him in hindsight compared to Daisy?^^^^^
You Normally get at least a Decent player at player at Pick 1
If the 2013 draft was done over again now, would Boyd, or Bontempelli be pick 1? Fact is that you'll likely get a great player anywhere in the top 10-15, and the majority of the time pick 1 won't end up being the best player of the draft. Hence why Kappa was correct in saying that the number 1 pick is the most overrated commodity in the AFL.
