List Mgmt. 2015 Draft Prospects

Don't you need a minimum number of clubs nominating a player before they can be considered in the draft?
Since when? AFAIK the player just nominates for the draft, never heard anything about clubs having to nominate them.

Most of them are going to end up at GWS, SWANS and the LIONS :(

How? I thought those Club would be using the Top Picks on Academies and Father Sons Players?

What does that matter? Hogan, Cameron, Patton, Lynch (GC), Mcarthy, McCartin will be the next wave.

194-197cm players have a bit more natural athleticism and speed.

This is also what does my head in the the US experiment is all aimed at Ruck sized players when if the dropped down to 188 -198cm range they would find athletes that blow them ruck types out of the water (generally better hand eye coordination too) and could be where we could find a new gun KPF.
Don't say its harder to learn as they TEACH the rucks both positions KPF and RUCK.

It is a narrow minded by recruiters to be so tunnel visioned imo they are missing the boat.
and other than Cameron they are all unproven. I think what we have seen with the mids getting bigger will eventually translate through keys. The 200 cm recruit will be as agile as the prototype from 10 years earlier

Salmon was one out of the box and they really haven't found one like him since.

Dixon, Tippett, Moore, Clarke, Casboult, Boyd, Vickery are the 200cm one's not a lot around really and a mixed bag.

I also could of added to the 190s grp Hawkins, Tex Walker, Day, Reidx2, J.Reiwoldt etc.
Tippet 204 Buddy 199 Hawkins 197 Clarke 200 to name a few to add to the list

Agree that Long jr is not great. I'm skeptical as to whether developing players in house will have any effect on whether recruiters will hold back on them or not, I'm just playing devils advocate here more than anything. It seems like the path the club is going down though.

I am concerned that a lack of exposure to elite competition may shark their development though...

Callum Brown is the same age as Josh Daicos isn't he? Does anyone know if he will be playing TAC this year, or will he be an 'in house' project too?

Look it could make them stop and think but then again they will see them play at some level and against peers they can get them invited to testing they can't refuse or we will be done for tampering as it will look exactly like we are doing what we are hiding them.

I just don't think clubs recruiters are dumb enough to fall for it, playing at a lower standard (u18s comps this can be debatable as I have seen players much better then some players who went on and played AFL never get a look in, these players played with and vs them attitude, work ethic, violent or party boys etc all reasons better talents can and do get overlooked) they will still come up against the odd player/s who is in line (for drafting) or being looked at.

If BF posters can already see the "talent" in these youngsters why do we think the people paid to do it can't?

That's to attend the draft camp at Etihad where they do all the tests.. any kid can sign up to be drafted.

Anyone who thinks we can hide a kid with the last name Daicos away is dreaming, other clubs have probably already seen plenty of him and will watch him play school footy.

and They would smell a Rat IF we tried to hid them

Actually was referring to nearly all of the 200cm range KPF like Tippett being overrated I named many YOU singled out Casboult.

They aren't as good and often inconsistent, is he ^^ (Tippett) a good player yes but I would take Franklin, Cloke, Roughy, Walker, Kennedy all before him.

Some I named are young and yet to prove anything true but as I said there isn't a lot around but the ones who have been are overrated compared to their shorter counter parts. My response was in reply to the notion that all KPF should be 200cm types!
Tippet use to be a basketballer that's why he doesn't know the game aswell as others he is probably with Clarke up there as the best second string tall forward in the comp. No you don't need to be 200+ to be a forward but it will become harder if you are not around the mark you will need that truely special aspect to your game

It's simple tell the daicos boys to tank

That'll be a great way to develop kids.. get an 18 year old to the club who has just spent 2 years playing poorly on purpose.. great habits to instil.

People need to accept the fact IF we draft one of these guys we will pay the market price and not a huge discount.

Tongue in cheek mate, I totally agree with you

That is not necessarily true, the club backs it self that they can develop them for senior footy as well if not better than the TAC cup side. You don't need to tell him when he is playing local or school footy not to try. Recruiters of other clubs would still be weary bidding on him became Camberwell is AGS not APS so the standard is not looked at as high

I'm sure that's what he meant. 6 of the players are available to clubs as Academy or Father-Son recruits, with 2 to GWS, 2 to Sydney, and 1 to Brisbane. The other prospect is available to Carlton/St Kilda.

Cheers, just asking the question.

Kevin Sheenan invites the blokes to the combine and then if a club wants to look at someone who is not there they can be asked that he is included

I thought they had to be certain amount of Teams that have to Nominate a Prospect before they are Invited

Where are you getting the info regarding they club's plans for these boys? I can't believe we would get this cute regarding the development of these talented kids.

I don't think they even barrack for Collingwood, or at least 1 doesn't.
Yeah they do. One went for Carlton when he was younger, but he soon realised the error of his ways.

Both are happily training at the Pies now
