List Mgmt. 2015 Draft Prospects

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

This off season waiting for the draft/trade period is going to be a nightmare. Can't wait.

What are we looking for? A young key forward would be perfect, possibly some outside pace and flair, or we might trade our first pick away?

What I don't understand is, the guy who was second (forgot his name) whos part of the GWS academy. Plays for North Ballarat and has played for Werribee. Can someone please explain to me how they become part of the academy again? This kid obviously lives in Victoria, why is he in a Sydney based academy?

I thought we've always been told its to help stop young NSW players stopping and going to play Rugby League, how is this kid in any danger of that?

Maybe he lived in Sydney and was in the academy before he moved to Victoria.

guessing you are talking about Dylan McDonald http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-04-09/dylan-mcdonald-profile

link talks about him living in Eurora (Vic) but moving to Albury (NSW (just)) for his footy. I'm guessing Albury must be part of GWS zone. Article mentions he's part of GWS zone academy, I'm not sure if that is the same as their academy. Clearly though examples such as his suggest there are loopholes and it's not like GWS are spending money developing him.

Jacob Hopper. He goes to school in Ballarat and plays for the North Ballarat Rebels, but is from NSW. He played against Werribee for the AFL Academy recently.

It’s been a whirlwind six months for Leeton teenager Jacob Hopper.

Coming from the same Riverina town as GIANTS midfielder Jacob Townsend, Hopper already knew several of the GIANTS players who’ve come through the PM CAPITAL GIANTS Academy.

I presume this lad has lived in NSW long enough for him to qualify as a zone/academy player. Lachlan Weller moved to Queensland from Tasmania I think a few years back but still wasn't there long enough to be included in the academy of a Qld. team, and ended up a high draft pick for Fremantle.

It mentions 4 or 5 times in the article that he (McDonald) was originally from Eurora. Surely they mean Euroa?!

Weideman or Weitering would be nice. Focus on KPPs a must given how few we've got.

How About:

9 Josh Schache
199cm | 96kg | Murray BushrangersLeft-footed, strong-marking tall forward who kicked seven goals in his only TAC Cup outing so far this season against Bendigo. Son of former Brisbane Bears forward, Laurie.

It would be delightful to snatch the son of a former Bears player after the last 6 months...

The romantic in me wants Wiedeman though.

I think we have to take a KPF with out first pick. Would be nice to take another high quality midfielder in the first round but history shows the best KPF's are taken first round.

and we have Drafted already a few Mids in the Top 10 in last 2 Drafts:

  • Scharanberg
  • Freeman
  • De Goey

And add Broomhead, Kennedy and Adams to that and thats a pretty decent core. Think we can back ourselves in and take a KPF.

They are 1st Rounders as well and Only Talls we Taken are Grundy and Moore. Both look like Potential SuperStars but Another one would be good

Couple of pics I took of Wiedeman two weeks ago for you guys. Good size, lefty, likes a goal, not afraid to get in and under either -

What about Mitch Brown for Sandy who played for the Bummers in NAB Challenge?

He Kicked 6 Goals in there Last Practise Match vs Frankston.

We need another good young KPF
