List Mgmt. 2015 Draft Prospects

Keath would be Intresting as in his Draft Year he was 1 of the Top Prospects but Missing So Much Footy would make it no Gurantee.

But as Cat B Player it would not hurt. The Bombers did that with John Rayner
I know what you're getting at Dave, but Rayner was delisted after one season so perhaps isn't the best example!

I agree with Dave in that we really need to stock up on keys.

In the draft I asked Knightmare 's opinion on who that we should look to pick up through the draft, and apparently Josh Schache, Sam Weideman and Matthew Allen are the leading players at this stage.

All of them seem to be a decent height, but Schache stands out at 199 cm, compared to 196 Weideman and 194 Allen. Scache also seems to have a more mature body so he could really come in and make an impact as a crash-and-bash forward. The only problem is, he might go too early for us to have a shot at getting him. Getting Weideman would be fairytale stuff though, so I'm not too opposed to leaving Schache. Weideman has been said to have great marking ability, and to get either him or Schache would be a win for us. Allen I don't know much about, but he has been tipped to be a top 20 smokey and if he's good enough we should be all up for him.

Outside the National Draft I'm really into ex-Geelong player Mitch Brown. He has been in great form for Sandringham this season kicking 7 goals from 3 games, averaging just under 7 marks a game, and being named in their bests every week including a best-on vs the Northern Blues last weekend. At just 24 he fits into our current build perfectly, and we could potentially nab him with just a rookie pick.

Any other players we could get?

I think this year will be really interesting. Me have some good depth but need to stock up on KPP to cover loss of Keefe and eventual exit of Cloke. I wouldn't be unhappy if we put up one of our quality kids for trade in order to move up the draft to make sure we get a really good KPP.

We will struggle to fit them all in to our 22. Not sure which one I would put up though.

No he wasn't. He was a chance to go top 5 pre Bulldogs trading for Boyd. That and he isn't a defender.
Maybe not no.1 but when player agent Adam Ramanaskas was asked would he trade any player in the 2014 draft for Tom Boyd, he said Darcy Moore would be the only one he'd consider.

I hazard a guess that he was referring to Moore the forward not Moore the defender.

As a defender Moore is nothing overly special he's far too dour to warrant a high selection, but as a forward or mid he could become top drawer.

The only defender of the past 5 years that wouldn't have looked out of place as number 1 was Scharanberg.

I'm a little concerned we may have missed the boat with the recent batch of KP forwards. Looking around, there are some absolute crackers out there, probably the most exciting batch of tall young forwards I've seen, coming through in the last two to three years. Every week they impress. My latest favourite is Hogan at Melbourne. Wow!

I know they were mostly high draft picks, to which we didn't have access, and we have Moore - but where do we propose to play him?

What is on the horizon? We always seem to be discussing midfielders, but surely we have that largely covered, at least for the short term. Much as I want Gault to succeed, he is not in the emerging elite bracket. Wondering if this is where Hine and co are focussing their current efforts. Hope so.

I thing Moore will play forward eventually. He's too dynamic in that position to be kept in defence.

Ideally we should be targeting one more young key forward and now with Keeffe gone, another key back. I'd love to get Weideman with our first or second pick (provided we don't trade it) and maybe re-rookie Hartley at the end of the year.

Exactly right Weideman and Moore would be a powerful forward combo fo years to come

Can't see all these Carlton fans getting the bargain they are after with Rice and Silvangi. Rice will go to the Saints and Silvangi can't get a game at the Chargers. Also it looks a bit dodgey the fact his old man is the head of there recruiting he won't pass him up even if he is a useless as Liam Jones

Don't get the Weideman love
It's a romance thing. He is the next best tall behind Scache at the moment too I think, so it's not like he's a dud who is getting TAC games on name alone.

Perhaps weirdly it also seems that Michael Hartley could still be listed as a category B rookie for us.
Hartley may well be worth another look if he's playing good enough football, especially as we lack key position players. I really can't imagine it would be possible for a club to pick up a player as a Category B Rookie, if he had previously been a NSW Scholarship player with that club, but then had been released. Especially as that scheme ended quite a few years back it just seems unlikely.

I suspect that when the rule says:- • is a former NSW Scholarship player with that club; it simply means someone still tied to the club and able to be upgraded to the Rookie List, not a former Scholarship player who has been released, because the way it reads we could reclaim Tom Young, Elijah Edwards even!

With Marsh emerging as a tall back to aid Frost long-term, you'd think we'll be OK there:
Brown, Frost, Reid and Marsh [Keeffe :(]
Hopefully, Moore is just doing a bit of an apprenticeship while his body develops, but we're going to need another one after that anyway, unless or even if, Gault starts showing a lot more. I'd be going pretty hard after one of the Suns' talls.

It's his last name. Also seems to be the 2nd/3rd best tall forward in the draft, so that helps. :p

Who wouldn't want to see Cloke mentoring Moore and Weideman to be his successors in the forward line?
The names sure have a romantic ring, don't they.

I like what I read about Keiran Agius and Ryan Burton both from North Adelaide.

Keiran is an indigenous kid about 187 cm tall, apparently kicked 50 odd goals in 20 games in the u18 SA league. In one game playing through the middle he had 27 possessions, 17 marks, 6 inside fifties and 9 goals. Also meant to be a very good kick with exceptional goal sense.

Ryan, from what I read is around 190/192 cm tall, super quick leading forward who is a great mark, big leap and elite kick at goal.

Ryan is expected to go first round and Keiran is a bit unknown, first to third round.

Burton is a good talent but broke his leg so it's a bit unknown if he'll get up for the championships. Also is a little undersized for KPP ATM so hopefully he grows.

It is interesting that we keep going on about the romantic notion of having Sam Weideman at Collingwood. The boy himself is a rabid Tiger's supporter and has no interest in the Pies.

Then why do Club play him as a Defender. Well Being in Top 5 means he can still go Number 1

How does someone who has one of the most famous names in Collingwood history go for the Tigers? That's like Daics' boy wearing A Carlton jumper. *spew*
