of course we would. But it dont matter, there is no way he will get to pick 32 unless there is more to the story than a simple DUI scenario.

id hope so too. but it is a pretty serious offence and i think it will see him slide. there will be a lot of question marks about his personality now.

sure he may well do but I doubt you'll see him slide anywhere near 32. He is touted as a top 10 draft quality player, he might get to late 1st round. There'd be very little chance he'd get passed Carlton's mid-late 1st round picks (3 of from memory).

*Edit: they have picks 1, 8, 11 + 19. They will be picking him up with one of those latter picks if he slides paste the top 10.

Would we take curnow after this if he was free
Kids do stupid things; I can't see why we wouldn't take him, as brushes with the law go it was to the lower end of the scale and he's probably thinking what an idiot he was already. But I can't see him sliding that far anyway.

No chance. Possible top 10. Certain top 20.

i agree. but some teams may have implications with sponsorship, club policy etc. I think it has had a big impact on him. Yeah kids do stupid things, but he was a week out of being drafted and he decided to get drunk and drive. Thats taking stupidity to whole new level

I'm pretty sure you didn't read who I was referring to.

There would be a few clubs who won't touch him with a barge pole. Most teams have some kind of car sponsorship and the ones who have a car or car insurance company as their major sponsor would have to think long and hard. He could end up being selected by a team who never thought they were in the running.

Although Callum Ah Chee features in most of the Draft Top 30 predictions, it sounds like he might have been doing his best to slide down the order as far as possible. A caller to 6PR tonight who sounded like he knows a lot about the WA draft prospects (not sure if he's in the system or an enthusiastic amateur phantom draft freak) said he was a bit disappointed in Callum - didn't have a good combine, knows he needs to work on his tank but apparently hasn't put the work in, etc. Says he's more skilled than Brendon, but doesn't have the same work ethic. Let's hope this bloke, and all the other recruiters except ours, have been trolled by Callum and he falls to 30-something :p

Looking at Quigley's comments I was interested in Luke Surman. He looks to have a bit of baby fat and is a bit slow but he has great hands and at 197cm 98kg and a defender to boot he could be worth a punt if he is around lower in the draft.

Thought he was a chance for a rookie spot. Does mark surely and doesn't panic with ball in hand.

If Callum falls to us then we've got to remember that Brendon was taken in the 2011 draft but didn't do anything to merit a call-up till 2015. Patience is always going to be a virtue with mid-range draft picks. Top ten picks like Wines, Bontempelli, Josh Kelly would be expected to start in their first year and cement a place but any 2nd round or later could take 3-4 years.

Quigley's epic is back this year!

Making my way through it slowly, but a major difference between his and others is how highly he rates Partington.

Interesting too he doesn't review players like Johnson, Redman, Parsons, Cuningham in his top 60 - all have been mentioned as possibles with our first two picks.

He likes the big Sturt ruckman Andre Parella and makes Wylie Buzza sound an intriguing proposition.
