Interesting too he doesn't review players like Johnson, Redman, Parsons, Cuningham in his top 60 - all have been mentioned as possibles with our first two picks.

He likes the big Sturt ruckman Andre Parella and makes Wylie Buzza sound an intriguing proposition.

Nickname: Coyote

It's always funny that after a year of hearing about a shallow draft there seem to be enough kids with a lot to like about their games in the 30-50 range.

Knightmare has tinkered a bit with his selections for Port in his phantom draft, still Aidyn Johnson with the first pick but now Greg Clarke with the second.

The more I read about ah chee the more it sounds like he is tanking to get to port.

It seems really unlikely though that a player would do that when it's such a long shot though..

Unless he was unwell during testing and it hasn't been reported ?

Would love to know Greg Clarke's sprint times from draft camp. Wouldn't surprise if he was one of the slowest over 20m. The few games I've seen him play he's looked soft, slow and pretty much undraftable.

In my unqualified opinion he projects as a poor mans Andrew Moore.

60-70 will get drafted and 40-50 will be rookie listed. History shows that even in weak drafts there will be about 25-30 that play at least 100 games and another 25-30 that play between 50 and 99.

Happens every year and is why I get so frustrated listening to the ubiquitous 'oh, but it's a weak draft' being bandied around by every man and his dog.

Quigley also very against the grain regarding O'Kearney and Hackett. Whether rightly or wrongly most seem to have O'Kearney pegged as vanilla with low scope for improvement and whilst Hackett's excellent year has been noted, is considered a bit small and light. I rate Hackett, but I think he's a fair way off being the 19th best player in the draft.

I'd be very surprised if Aidyn Johnson made it to 32 or whatever Port's pick ends up being. ;)

'Weak draft' 'Super Draft' - is it even mathematically possible to have drafts poles apart? 'experts' perceptions are just that - we will only find out in 3-5 years time.
I liken it to customer looking at a top restaurants menu and complaining about it not having their favourite meal on the list. Quality restaurant will always produce quality food - AFL development is improving every year - every year there will be very good footballers produced.

Does anyone think we might look at a mature age KPD like Michael Hartley or Marcus Adams given Carlile and Trengove injury concerns last year?

It seems that anytime Vic metro does poorly in a national carnival that the following draft is deemed "shallow". It couldn't be that the rest of the competition was better?

Not sbout who is the most accurate. It isabout who actually provides Information that does not come from main stream media.
Main stream media is the most accurate

Ford who do you think has the most accurate phantom draft

Agree with missionpossible that as far as accuracy goes the mainstream media has the best idea because they talk to the recruiters. Most notably Emma Quayle and Cal Twomey have that sort of access so are informed in what the clubs might be looking for.

Does that make them any more accurate? Probably not, at least as the first round wears on. By the time you get to our pick Chaos Theory will have overwhelmed the orderly system. Players will be taken for reasons known only to particular clubs and players will fall and slide in the eyes of the amateur phantom drafters.

I really use the phantom drafts to get an idea of the type of player likely to be around our pick and then finding out about that player. That way I have an idea of maybe up to a dozen possibles. And still last year Port thwarted me! The phantom drafters here are not particularly accurate but the best ones give good insights into players. Knightmare either has good antenna for rumours around the place or knows a few people. Even so as far as accuracy goes he gets overwhelmed like everyone else.

This year is going to be especially crazy because of Academy picks and the concentration of early draft picks among a few clubs which means they can select players for reasons other than absolute talent, eg positional need. Port could easily grab a player they rate in their top 20 because of all of the variables in play.

Clurey would be playing every week at a different club. Austin impressive. I wouldn't think we need another KPD.

Agree. Plus jonas plays tall. Westy can float back as support. Oshea as a third tall if needed. Butch if we are desperate.

No need for a ready made depth there. If there is a young back and he is best available maybe. But no depth types there pls.
