I really really like Parish. Just seems to know what to do in any situation. Can play off a half back, can play as a small forward, is an inside and outside mid. His versatility is great, although his talent was more present in the last game versus SA than it was in this one.

Presence is just the thing he doesn't produce for mine. It's hard to judge having not watched most of this year but looks too Marc Murphy(at best) for mine to be talked about as top 5.

That's fair enough - he can definitely be a player where you go "I didn't realise he had the ball that often" after looking at stats.

There's a kid named Sam Petrevski-Seton who isn't eligible this year, but definitely one to keep an eye on, especially cos Ken loves speed.

Kid is unbelievably quick.

I'm guessing this is an Ah Chee that hasn't been sighted for most of the year? Or are people just hating on his numbers?

That's him. He's been virtually missing these championships until this game, the potential is obviously there. But Vic Metro aren't a particularly strong team either, so that might have helped him a touch.

He's definitely a first rounder on talent, I just don't see him going Top 10.

If we're looking at a hard midfielder, Ben Crocker fits the mould. Got a bit of white line fever, but can go forward and is actually pretty good in congested situations without needing the contact and to use his strength. Would be available second round, and maybe even third.

Do you realise that we could actually get a top 3 pick the way we are going

Not even close to getting a top three pick. We could tank for the rest of the year and not get one. Some clubs have been practicing being shit for years. How does the bane quote go?

"You merely adopted losing , we were born with wooden spoons "

Could apply to Melb , Saints Carlton

Did the predictor, I was as harsh as I could be on what we would do and the lowest I found we would probably be would be 13th, giving us the sixth pick. As we have 5 wins, 8 would mean only 3 in the last 10 rounds, which would seem less than we will get. So six is the highest pick possible, but I would expect something like 8 or 9.

The more i see of Schache, the more i want him

Would Moore+ our first round (6-12) = a top 3 pick?

Then there are free agency compo picks to be factored in. Only one GWS +GC compo pick left to be activated and thats end or Rd 1 for when GWS took Rhys Palmer off Freo.

First choice Curnow followed by Partington then Callum Ah Chee as our first round pick depending who's available.

Our second round pick will be watching Flynn from the GWS Academy in the division 2 under 18 games 200cm+ ruck/forward particularly if we see potential more as a forward. He's a basketball convert about 95 kilos said to be very agile. Then Harry McKay and Sam Weideman. We like the GWS Academy though that's the reason for the initial interest in Flynn they may really like Flynn but with their talls they may not find a place on the list for him.

Our third pick. Ferreira dislocated his ankle playing for the NT last week. If we have gone over Ah Chee in the first round Ferreira would be a steal as a small mid / forward. next Daniel Roili small /forward then Brendan Dew the same he's doing ok at the 18s for SA has overcome injury before the championships his skills are A grade small mid/forward as well.

No would need to be a 1st 22 regular

So we could be as late as 12 depending on how we do.

We should also give the 5 players vests ie a sub vest so you can see them, like bibs. Then instead of tackling we should go around giving hugs and compliments.

Ploppy has a point, the current rugby scrum footy is ordinary to watch... stoppages up 50% in 9 years.... bring the interchange cap back to 80 I say.

As has been said, would need a very good best 22 player plus our first rounder. Looks like it'll be GC / Brisbane / Carlton bottom 3, and all 3 teams would want to keep their top 3 pick.

Yeah agreed sadly, but i still want Schache

Even a Mason + our second rounder for their end of first round compo then our first pick and that compo for a top 3 pick 3

Would you take it?

The answer is a vehement no. Total pipe dream.

Also, Schache looks great... But he's no guarantee. Good size, hands and kick... But so does Tyrone Vickery.

He looks fantastic, but he also needs to be developed well, which we don't have a great track record of.

Wouldn't make a call on Schache until a showdown with Weitering in the tac which isn't far away. With those man-childs my grading method is solely based on what he does against big opponents. He found space well today but Francis played very agressive on him after quarter time.

He beat Francis, but Francis isn't a stopping key defender and was giving up 10cm. Francis still managed to run off him a few times as well.

the game was far better to watch when it wasnt so congested...when the forwards stayed inside their 50..make that happen again..its a maul at the moment with no flow.

I love the congested nature and high pressure of football. Balance between zones, 1 on 1 football and individual brilliance in an outnumbered situation seperates AFL from other sports.

Schache would be the sexy pick, Francis would be the high risk high reward pick (for our situation)... but I think we'd probably go Weitering. With the way we play being defence first. But because of our supposed key forward woes, Schache is just as much a chance, not that we'd play him to his strengths (he's dominated being a stay at home forward, which the Under 18 not only allows for, but encourages).

What makes you say that Francis would be a high risk high reward pick? His game doesn't come across as flaky at all to me, from what I've seen I'd be pretty confident of him coming in and playing some pretty solid games at AFL level almost immediately.

Yeah he is an absolute beauty. Really looks like he has the build to go with the flash. I was extremely impressed by him in the colts last year, has a very powerful game but gets around like greased lightning. I am yet to see him playing league for Claremont this season, but by all accounts he has done a pretty good job of it against men too.

Given our record with tall forwards he'd probably trip over something at Adelaide Airport and break his leg.
