Sorry to steal your thunder princy_99 but thought I would post your question and Knightmare's answer on our board:

Hi Knight, just a quick question who do you think Gold Coast should pick with picks 6,16,29 and 56, with the need of the players picked to play first game of next year.

If I'm picking I like Clayton Oliver, Mitch Hibberd, Luke Partington and Tom Phillips at those selections for Gold Coast as the probable best availables straight from my draft board. All can play and play early next year if the opportunity is there with all for their age strong production players already.

With a limited offensive game I would see him as more a 2nd defender in the Steve May mould
Schade has offence???
News to me..
Second or third tall take your pick
Looks a upgrade on Schade

I'd love to get Curnow or Oliver at 6
And Collins at 16.
That would be a excellent draft period

Had another look at his highlights and he looks to have a better offensive game then Schade (more so getting it and decision making and not so much the disposal) but not to same extent as Francis if we are calling him a 3rd tall defender who offers more intercept marking and rebounding.

Would very happily take a guy at 16 who has all the attributes of Steve May.

I really hope Clayton takes a slider with 16 or Hibberd and not some project player like Leslie
Agree. I think the recruiting staff believed the list was much stronger when they reached for Leslie back then. We can't afford to take risks with our current list except for maybe our last pick and a few rookies.

I have a bunch of cousins that live up there. Ormeau to labrador. A great part of australia. Yeah its great. I guess us 'southerners' just enjoy what we have down here too. Agree with the kids embracing wherever they end up quote though.
Nothing wrong with the gc other than to many queenslanders live there.

More in the Herald Sun today, stating Rumours are Melbourne will bid on Mills with pick and GC will bid pick 6 on either GWS prospects Hopper or Kennedy if available.

With the AFL integrity officer watching the new system closely this could deeply effect our draft position next year.
If they Lower the value of points in the second round for instance.. All our picks we got for our academy kids will be worth less..
Meaning we traded and swapped for less then first thought.

Might not afford Scheer and Bowes if both get bids below 10

If they are that good - and thats a ' big if ' - we aready have 2 first round picks in the bank....and along with all the second rounders will get job.done.....

But you'd prefer to use your 2 first round picks on 2 other gun kids.. And use your 3 second round picks and 1 third round to pay for Scheer and Bowes.

Then you have yourself 4 kids all worth of first round selection :D

Plenty of other options will arise to cover them - future picks, player trades for picks etc. no need for concern. :)
I must admit I was being dramatic.
No chance we wouldn't pick them up 1 way or another.. Just stating the fact if they lower the value of the draft picks.
We've been stooged!!
