Pretty much the same for me Ryza

The only tweaks/clarifications I have is Oliver is clearly top for me with Burton number 2 subject to his injury. I would also add in Gresham.

So for me it is Oliver>>>>>>> Burton >> Collins / Ah Chee / Gresham

Second selection depends on the outcome of the first

I like the potential of Gach and his development of circa 2 years could fit into our time frame for an Ivvy exit. If we don't go a small in the first selection I also like the idea of Kerbatieh who I think moves a bit like Puopolo.
I'm not sure about Gresham. ..seems a bit a lambert? Dunno?

No. I was listening live when he said it (about 2 years ago now). Mark Allen p*ssed himself laughing and Schwarz had no idea why. Every now and again, it gets brought up on the Saturday morning show by Hutchison/Pickering.

You really think Schwarz is smart enough to come up with a joke like that ? Cmon dude. You heard him try and pronouce defibrillator ?
I have been saying that for years, its just a deliberate play on words.

Interested on thoughts that Carlton may be jumping in the wrong direction in not taking Schache.

If it were me, I would take the big forward over the big defender unless it was clear choice to go the other way which this doesn't appear to be the case. Given their picks of 1, 8 and 11 I would be selecting Schache at 1, test the lions out with Hipwood at 8 (ex academy picks) and if they match take Francis if he slipped to 8 or their preferred available mid with Collins at 11 (or if they get Hipwood maybe take a mid at 11). That way they get the clear best tall forward, the 2nd or 3rd best tall back and a defender/mid (Francis).

Just don't think you pass up on a potential dominant forward for a tall back.

Maybe they expect to have a few more shots at number 1's over the next few years so can get a back, a forward and 2 or 3 mids????

Given the clearing out of their list this year, I'm pretty sure they expect to have another #1 pick next year.
I think they'll go tall with at least 3 of their first 4 picks though, if not all of them, surely one will be a forward

They will most likely have another 3-4 picks in the top 25 next year
This year they could possibly have Weitering,Weideman,H.McKay as 3 talls (2fwds &1df) as well as a good mid with #19 which would set up their spine and next year is a better draft for mids so go full out for mids in 2016

I'm just hoping they leave us someone very good. I simply assume they'll pick talent, then squander it. All good :thumbsu:

Schache isn't that good. Half his goal are joe the goose, the other half come from for the most part being bigger than everybody. Weitering is the right decision if going down the key position route.

Would require them to trade even more players at the end of 2016 to get more than 2 Top 25 picks
Not sure they have anyone left who would get those picks for them that they'd be willing to trade.

Don't think the AFL will give them a PP for deliberately trading away all their players knowing that they'll fail
No one will pay the 750k per year that Carlton is paying Gibbs, only way they get a pick for him is if they pay 250k per year of his salary

Clubs will pay gibbs $650k im sure thats what he would be on as thomas is their highest paid player on 700k
They will trade a 1st rounder for him - no question about that

Just watch the AFL give them th PP , They will help them with the rebuild - mark my words

So we are getting closer to Draft day, what type of player will be go for with pick 12?
I believe that we require a player from all sections of the ground. Which is the most important?
Kieran Collins as a big key defender would be good fantastic. Troy Chaplin will only have a few years left, Astbury could be traded at the end of the year and Elton hasn't quite hit the mark. It would be a fantastic get.
Do we take the risk of drafting Burton. His injuries were horrific, yet had the determination to get himself up and going. Character says a lot about a person.
No doubt, their are other posters that know so much more than me and can fill in more information.

No offense but all these issues have been discussed ad nauseam in the thread already if you jump into the archives.
