Yeah, 2nd rounder as well as Black

It'll end up being a third round pick and nothing else for Black i reckon
Yeah his worth has plummeted this season. If we can get him el-cheapo and get him playing the footy he was a little while ago he would be an absolute steal. But trading Barlow though. Love that bloke and I would love to see him win a premiership with Freo.

I don't know were exactly it's come from, but i've heard apparently Barlow to North for Black and a 2nd round pick from some of my friends who go for North. Could be a good trade if we expect Weller, Blakely or another young mid to get better next year, but I don't know if we should take the risk.
That would would be most unfortunate. Surprised Barlow is expendable given he has only had a rough second half of the year. If Freo want to start treating servants of the club like Barlow in that manner, they will quickly lose respect within the AFL community.

So what realistic theoretical trades are we willing consider to secure McCarthy AND Bennell this trade period? '15 and '16 first picks are almost guaranteed both used. And we can't secure both McCarthy AND Bennell with draft picks alone, which leaves us to offer player(s).

For me personally, and I know I'm going to go under scrutiny, I would consider:
'15 first draft pick + Barlow for Cam McCarthy, 16' first draft pick for Bennell.

As much as I love Barlow, and being in complete denial with trading him, reality is any trade involving snagging both Bennell and McCarthy is going to hurt us one way or another. I think Barlow has played his role at Fremantle and due to our overflow of talent coming through the midfield his services are going to be somewhat lacklustre at our club, shown by some games throughout the year, derby especially. But I think he still has a lot to offer at clubs who don't have such a dominant midfield like Fremantle do, such as GWS. I don't know, I just found that sometimes throughout our 2015 campaign, we were overflowing with contested ball winners which lead to Barlow playing a more half forward role compared to his usual ball magnet, inside mid role. Truth is, we require more silky skills and less inside grunt, Bennell could replace Barlow in that midfield/forward role and provide us with better kicking efficiency/penetration while still retaining contested ball winning with Fyfe, Neale, Mundy.

I would also love it if McCarthy was handed the great #18 Fremantle Guernsey.

I disagree, It would be disrespectful to let him rot in the WAFL. Trading him would extend his AFL career and a payrise depending on which club we trade him to.

I think we are going to sign quite a few cast-offs this trade period basically hoping to stockpile alternatives into our list. Think Black, J.Grant, M.Brown and this is on top of attempting to get Bennell and McCarthy.

I would be stoked beyond belief to get McCarthy and Bennell. Bennell can win a game off his own boot. 6 goals in a game. In a top 4 team je wpuld be worth 2 goals+ each hame. MCCARTHY - no reason to think why he would not average at least 2 goals per game too. We desparately need to find 4 goals more per game. Interesting what thoughts of Pav and McC in the same forward line.

This one is out of left Field.. BRIAN LAKE. Would be a perfect replacement for Luke. Allow A Pearce, Jophnson and Co. to be attacking. He wants to go around again.. Maybe we could show some interest.. If anything, it might drive up his price at the Hawks if we are out of the equation..

Lake is too slow now, we would be carrying three third talls (Lake Johnno Ibbo) instead of actual KPD's which wouldnt work out well for us and we would get found out imo

Litherland would be the better target imo

He is a dirty player and not the type that I'd be happy to cheer for in our own team. Plus he's slow and getting beaten often now. Multiple teams in the comp don't have a forward he can match up on. I was actually surprised he lined up yesterday. Didn't do much - but then he didn't need to.

Bennell's going to be coming cheap now. Reckon we could offer a 5th rounder and no one else will match it.

Yeah Litherland has serious wheels and we NEED to make our transition faster. Lyon's system will keep the scores down, once we get the ball we need the class and speed.
