Yeah but that's like saying Nic Nat is better than Sandilands or Priddis is better than Josh Kennedy or Jack Riewoldt is better than Taylor Walker because the former made the AA team and the other didn't.

I don't think there is anything separating Langdon, Weller or even Grey at this stage until proven at AFL level.
Not my opinion,an observation of what the state selectors thought.
Interesting observation by Terry Wallace that big bodied mids have the best percentage of draftees that make it ..90%according to him.
Ballard was selected in the WAFL team and is now gone.Tough decision to work out.

I like this about Hawthorn. They have a great recruiting team and a superb list management model. They know exactly where their list is at, who can be jettisoned and what they need,

They value known quantities: that is actual AFL standard footballers and know what use they can put them too. They then make the best offer they can with no bull shit.

I hope they get Carlisle as Alex Pearce has one year left on his contract and you can bet your arse his name is on top of their list for next year. "Alex, how would you like 450k straight up? Freo here's pick 19...Alex wants to Victoria...thanks very much."

Thy have Hodge, Burgoyne and Mitchell coming up. O'Meara and Prestia are on their board
Agree, they are leading the Comp in recruiting developed players. It seems to be one per year. Time will tell if they lead the comp in falling in a heap due to no developed players. Clubs will catch on and a natural evolution will take place. Wether that is clubs saying GTFO or poaching Hawks players who knows? Lach72 is correct, midfielders will be on the list next year

People bagging out danyle pearce just stop. Lewis Jetta had his career best season and danyle still shaded him in 9/10 key stats.

And he cost us ******* nothing
My issue with Danyle Pearce is the way he delivers the ball into the forward line. He is a serial bomber.

I concur, I thought the decision on Ballard was tough as he seemed to shape as the natural Barlow replacement down the track.

Hope someone else picks him up, he was a lot better kick than given credit for, club need list spots just didn't think he deserved one. Beleive he was very upset when given the news. I hope Freo aren't throwing out the baby with the bath water in a quest for the first flag though our midfield is very strong.

He was pretty good this year, Danyle
Pretty good at holding the ball, trip himself and get injured , or score A freak goal after numerous turn over the ball and playing like ninja in finals series just don't brough up this name. So far the only good I see is a better trade than colin

Maybe the people bagging him out watch him play rather than just read about the stats afterwards
He's just a bog average footballer

He deserves an opportunity, but I can't see him breaking into our midfield. Good decision by Freo, but unfortunately when you make an Omelette you have to break some eggs.

We'll have to agree to disagree. His disposal improved a lot in the second half of the season and he rarely got caught with the ball this season either iirc. That happens to everyone anyway. Fyfe got caught with it quite often this season. sometimes trying to do too much or sometimes not having someone to give it to up the ground or sometimes just not being aware.

I was on D Pearce's side at the end of 2013 because I didn't think anyone could take over his spot. That is no longer the case. I think these players could do a better job than Pearce as an outside mid.

Bennell
Sherro
Sutty
Langdon
Weller
Bennell absolutely.

Shero and Sutty maybe but I doubt it. Shero has played a lot of midfield in the WAFL and hasn't been all that impressive. Sutty really hasn't played much midfield since arriving here.

Langdon and Weller will no doubt be better but as to whether it'll be next year who knows. I'd back them in to develop on the job.

Where did that insult come from....

I attend every home match and watch every away game on TV, I'm well aware of Pearce's strengths and weaknesses. His strengths far outweigh his weaknesses.

He's been a great servant, consistently in our top 10 B&F and delivers what asked of him, maybe the bombing into F50 is a result of our structure & having no one to kick to rather than himself personally.

I do agree though that he was much better in the first half of the year than the second but so where most of the team.

Or maybe you need to watch him play a little closer & figure out exactly what his role is & what he actually contributes before throwing shit at him.

Can't see Sutty going into the midfield unless he add some size to his upper body. Sheridan the same. Have great run though, but tackling really let them down. Bennell is the obvious replacement for someone like De Boer/Suban/Mzungu.
