let the GWS boys walk - we don't need to trade if they chose us - GWS has to reduce their playing list by 2 this year - they may be interested in picks to throw into other deals they may be doing, or simply will just let them go as they have done last season

Both small / medium defenders, could replace Tommy if he decides to go, or push out Spurr / Duff in time

KPP please!

I would much rather Hampton if he was willing to move to Perth. He is so, so talented - would probably cost our first round pick or something of equivalent value, though.
Apparently he has been doing really well in the NEAFL and can play forward and back. Would be handy as a small defender? Listed at 185 cm so he's not really that small.

You are kidding, can't make the Giants team , which has had fair few injuries, 3rd round at best.

The neaf is wafl reserves level, it's getting better but still not that strong and the Giants wipp every body, no need to do much defending.

I see the tigers have extended, resigned the contracts of Anthony Miles and Todd Elton. Elton has played two games in four years, Miles was the steak knives from the Giants but has turned into a very good player. Hope Fremantle are making sure that our young players are getting signed or they'll go especially the east coast guys like Tanner ?had a reasonable good year, but also Grey, Baallard ? Moller ? the guy's like Shero and Croz. I reliase it's not always clear cut but with KPP and rucks in short demand it would be nice to see some signings soon. The guys with ? Marks are certainly worth keeping IMO but again IMO would be snapped up by other clubs.

I wonder if we would have a better chance signing a key forward if there was a mid season draft/trade period.

Surely a player would want to come to a team on top struggling for a back up to Pav.
An ideal trade would have been possible this year with Mumford going down at GWS with no experienced ruck backups where we had 3 in Clarke/Griffin/Hannath (not as exp). They have a huge stock of forwards though.
Steward/McCarthy/Tomlinson etc

I doubt it. Maybe if they could do it as a sort of short term stop gap kind of thing but I don't really think it would be much different.

Just having a chat about Jetta's value on our thread (assuming he nominates a specific club).
What are the views here (in terms of a draft pick range)?
Jetta from the swans? 1st round pick might be enough. He is out of contract too. North are trying to bend freo over demanding a 1st round pick and Crozier/ Sheridan for Aaron Black, who has 2 more years at North.

What North are really trying to do is kill 2 birds with 1 stone; get Black and the money they have allocated to him off their books, and get something decent in the trade.

They think its 2002 and they expect us to bow to their demands.
Personally, I think getting something useful for him will be a win as he seems useless to them at the moment. He is the classic list clogger. I am not saying that he has no chance of making it or cannot contribute. But the signs are not good at the moment.

Wouldn't give up our first rounder for Jetta, but he's worth more than our 2nd pick. So we'd be in a bit of no-man's land there.

Black would be worth about a 3rd rounder. At absolute most our 2nd rounder, if feeling very generous/desperate.

Would West Coast be desperate to get him?

I would take Nathan Wilson if he wanted to come home and play him in a back pocket, we do struggle against good small fwds and he is apparently pacey and could play the position.
