It might be just me but Jetta doesn't seem to be the same damaging player he was 2-3 years ago. He just doesn't seem to hit the score board enough or get in dangerous positions.

Maybe I don't see Sydney enough. I just hope he isn't getting too comfortable.
Has had a change of role this year, playing further up the ground so not expected to get the goals as before. He is 26 - prime time for him.

Jetta could effectively take over Pearce's role. Maybe not as many I50's, but more shots on goal. Would be very happy to see him in purple. Happy to give up our second round for him. Use our first for Dixon!

Jetta has actually played back for portions this year, as their rebound has suffered immensely with Malceski's departure and Shaw's drop off, theyve tried to plug with Rohan, Rampe and him. However lately Rampe has actually been playing KD on guns.

He was easily their best on the weekend.

COLA phase out rules mean they could also only accept a player on same or less than the median ($350k), so player in trade is unlikely. Our 2nd rounder could almost be enough, as it appears they have no choice if they want to land Mills AND Dunkley. Or else he goes to PSD and they get no points for the kids.

Or they could be the first to pull trigger in the modern era and send him somewhere without consent, AFLPA would love that...

I'd wager if he nominates us (seems more likely than not), he's ours for a steal. No way would we part with our first for him.

How would they get him to sign a contract to play somewhere without his consent?

Someone with leg speed like Jetta through the midfield would ideally release Stephen Hill to provide run more often off half back. When asked recently about moving Hilly back (I think by Gerard Healy), RTB pointed to the higher need for his midfield run at present, so I'd expect we'd be lining up to secure the services of Jetta.

Would we be interested in Fraser McInnes? Apparently out of contract at the end of the year, is a Perth boy. Never watched him play but kicked 4 goals on the weekend before getting injured and out for the rest of the season.

No, Eagles family, he wouldnt be going anywhere normally. Or maybe the bitter taste in his cousins mouth has soured the family relationship?

Don't like this at all. For those that follow the NBA you probably know what I mean when I say teams cripple themselves in the future for the hope of a gain in the present.
That's their problem. We have an astute football department, mobs like Carlton on the other hand.

How would people feel if Ballantyne was traded to someone like Richmond who desperately need a small forward. I'm not putting forward any likely deals, but I can see him as someone that other teams could value and he has the potential to be pushed out if Crozier comes on. I know he was AA last year, so shouldn't we sell our stock when it has a high market value rather the hold onto him until he becomes less 'valuable'?

What if he returns to form next season? We would look like idiots.

The only experience I have with future pick trading is the Browns trading their first picks for three years and somehow turning pick (1 maybe?) into pick 4 and 7 because Dances with Wolves didn't rate the number one pick.

All I can say is thank all the deities that there was no future pick trades available at the start of our club, otherwise we'd have no picks for the next 50 years and all we'd have to show for it would be a handful of magic mung beans.

Yep, but now we're going ok I'd be offering our 1st rounder this year and next year for the best key forward we can get. Even chuck in a C or potential B player we have depth in if it means getting a good one. Get offered crud, don't accept the deal.

Either that or chase someone like Shultz we can get for free. We need a plug in forward for next season to have another crack, we're badly exposed this year and have been lucky Pav hasn't got injured.

I would offer 2015 and 2016 first rounders for McCarthy. Call me crazy but I would do it and back our recruiters to find some late gems.

So you obviously watched Draft Day then? They turned pick 7 into pick 1, 7 and a good punt returner.
