Essendon should be in talks with Lobbe- would be ironic if we manage to get him after losing Ryder. :p
The only players that Essendon will be able to attract for the next few years will be financial mercenaries who are happy to be a part of an awful culture for a few extra bucks.

Fair call, but i reckon might depend on what you use pick 20 for... What if picks 20 gets you Jake Carlisle and fills the hole down back you need that might just be the difference between winning a flag or not.

Barring 2 major knee injuries like this year, another KPD is the last thing we need.

All I've seen in the media is that the Pies will have to give up their first pick in the deal. Nothing saying that's all it will take, just that our first going to GWS is a given.

The only article I've seen that elaborated said that GWS would use the Beams deal as the yard stick for the Treloar deal, which makes sense.

Probably. Would Seedsman want to go north?
Maybe. He was housemates with Beams until last year, and despite being a Pies fanatic all his life, I'd imagine he'd have a soft spot for the Lions. His Grandfather, in addition to being the President of the Pies, was also a premiership player for Fitzroy.

I think Seeds is a QLDer, and whenever one of our kids wants out everything thinks its a good chance to clean out their QLDer stocks, regardless of their worth.
Seeds is from Melbourne. I'd be pretty disappointed to see him leave because he has loads of talent, but just cant seem to keep fit for long enough. He's literally exactly what we need!!

You cannot put seven players on the vets list

The vets list has been wound back as well.
You are wrong. previously you could have two veterans. a few years back they changed the rules so you could have as many as you wanted but it is only like 100k per season, per vetran out of the cap

The vets list has been wound back as well.
The previous Veterans’ List allowance has been replaced with clubs now granted a salary cap allowance for players with 10 completed years or more with the club.

There is no longer an age requirement of 30 years.

The amount of the allowance has been calculated as a fixed percentage of Total Player Payments (TPP) per player based on the average amount of football payments excluded from the TPP for players on the Veterans’ List for seasons 2007-09, divided by the average number of players with 10 or more years’ service at one club during that period.

The fixed percentage has been set at 1.229 per cent and the allowance per player in 2013 is $112,320.

Matthew Leuenberger to Sydney on $500'000 Brisbane expected to get an end of first round Compo pick which they'll use on Keays according to the Herald Sun
We cant sign another player under AFL rules for over the average wage of an AFL player. This is ~350k. So how can we sign a player for 500k a year?
