Good starting point.

Possible sweetener?
If Treloar nominated Carlton , that would get it done .
I'm divided on it , at some point Carlton have to pull the trigger on a genuine blue chip KPF in the draft .
Schache is there this year , but imagining Treloar working in tandem with Cripps is bloody tempting ...

He'd have to nominate you though for just your first rounder.

A Cripps/Treloar 1-2 punch is pretty bloody good...

Nothing else to sweeten the deal for us?

That pick could land you Weitering and i reckon you could live with that .

No real need for a sweetener , you already have shitloads of talent on your list that can't get a game ...

I'm greedy like that though.

Is Treloar the "franchise player" you guys need though?

He racks them up like a stripper with an expensive Coke habit, but I don't think he hurts the opposition enough.

That would be the offer ... and personally I'm still divided on it .

I guess nobody would be better placed than Silvagni to make the call though ...

Yeah that's the challenge, what is he going to cost us if it is true, our 1st & 2nd picks?? Can't see any players being swapped.
Can't see GWS being interested in those picks for Treloar .
They are already loaded with talent and would only be interested in the absolute top picks or equivalent player talent .

So Syndey would have like a 1/3 of their salary sewn up on pretty much just 3 players. Maybe slightly less than a 3rd with Buddy, Tippett and Hanneberry. Doesnt Mitchell get 500k a year aswell?

Not even including guys like Parker, Kennedy, Captain Jack, Mcveigh, Richards, Grundy, Mcglynn ect

If you believe you can get more back in a trade than the compo pick. Though the more likely scenario would be an associated sweetheart deal on the side to not match.
And in the worst case scenario the PSD is an option - At the end of the day, its the height of stupidity to match an offer if the player wants to leave.

Witts is highly regarded by the Pies and has a lot of potential. In the open market he'd be worth pick 10-15 IMO. Pies 1st draft pick will be around 10-15. Treloar would be worth a pick around 1-3 IMO. Based on those evaluations it's 2 top 15 picks for 1 top 3 pick. Pies might need to add a little something to sweetener it but not a whole lot more.

I'd suggest something like this:
Witts, 1st rounder and 2nd rounder for Treloar and 3rd rounder.
