When was the last time there was a headline where a Swan did something negative outside of football? You would probably have to to go back to the Micky O rape allegations of the early 90's or something Capper did with Leanne when he was with us.
I do believe I heard about one of our fringe players, some guy named Buddy or something similar, smashing his girlfriend's high end ride and maybe clipping a few parked cars.
Pretty sure this fringe player had the same done to his car by another player possibly named Hanners, though I've never heard of him. ;)

Mills = 2016 1st round + 2015 2nd round
Dunkley = 2015 1st round + 2015 3rd round
McGovern = Jetta
Bennell = Bird
Luey = FA

If not McGovern, then we use the 1st rounder to get a defender.
What is so special about Dunkley? (Yes, I know his dad was a club legend - though probably the worst kick ever). I love father/son players, but we wouldn't be the first club to overlook one.
From all accounts he's a gutsy inside mid but is otherwise limited. Hasn't been setting the game alight for the Tiges. Do we really need to possibly go into debt for another of those?
Would he be a mid-teen pick if he wasn't the son of a champ?

I wouldn't be giving up much for him tbh, atm we have a gluttony of inside mids, why sell the farm for another who isnt that special?

wowee! Thats news! dont mind it though I mean as I said he's not what we need at all, a good strong young midfield group exists at the Swans. KP players, get'em in!!
He posted it quite a while ago. Disappointing but makes sense. The numpties from Vic will just make spiteful bids, if they want him top 20 they will have to pony up with a top 20 draft pick. If he slides far enough, we will still take him.

I agree. The last thing we need is another inside mid with poor skills. It would be nostalgic though.

Back in July if I'm not mistaken, when Mills & Dunkley were being discussed ad nauseum. We won't need Dunkley since we already have 3 inside ball winners (Kennedy, Mitchell, Parker), but would be far better off using the picks to draft someone. If we don't go after Dunkley, I think the club would trade futures this year to get Mills and then use the 2015 picks to trade players from other clubs.Things could get very spicy if our trade ban is changed.

And we have Hewett and Mills at the end of the year.

We should pretend we're keen so that a Vic club pays overs for him.

Is this official or just a hunch/ logical opinion
You just have to put 2 and 2 together. Usually by now these hyped up FS would've committed. He hasn't. He really hasn't said he wants to play for Sydney. It's like contract talks. Treloar, for example, said he loves the Giants and wants to stay...ends up leaving. Dunkley is just saying "I'll see how it goes". Get my drift here?

And if I was in his shoes, why go to a club where I wouldn't play (with JPK, Parks, TMitch, Heeney, etc) when I could go to a team in that 25-30 range and play R1.

do you genuinely believe gc would give up bennell for craig bird?

I'm sorry but i can't see the logic that would lead you to that conclusion.

Next years picks are going to be more valuable at the trade table as the draft next year is much stronger. Use whatever picks we need to from this draft to get mills.

Fair enough but for example we could feigning indifference
He nominates last minute anyway
Teams would realize if they bid they will get him forcing teams to only make serious bids

On top of that it could come down to where he would likely end up.
Essendon for example could be worse case scenario, they would be the last club i would want to go to now.
He may not want to go to Perth, Adelaide or Queensland there are another 6 teams covered and all likely destinations.

I think your right but remember Cloke was also leaving Collingwood and Buddy was going to GWS you just never know.

Can't fake it, he has to be nominated as a father-son beforehand so the other clubs will know we want him.

There is an AFL deadline for F/S nominations, 31st October from memory so that's 24 days before the ND that we'll know whether we are going to have the option of matching the highest bid for Dunkley.

He can nominate Swans if we invite him to, then WE have the option of matching the bid or NOT at the ND.

The final ND order could play into our hands if Carlton, Brisbane and GCS have more than the first three picks as I don't think any of those clubs will bid on Mills.

Is there anything from stopping clubs from putting in unrealistic bids just to screw us? Knowing full well we will take Mills no matter what?
