Hey guys with jetta maybe wanting a trade home what is the realistic value you put on him at the trade table ?
If it is a late first round would you be happy if you got multiple later picks with the same point value ?
Say a 2nd and two 3rd rounders .
It wouldn't really matter if you are using the picks for academy bidding .
McGovern or naitanui should get the trade done. But more realistically I would think the only think swans would accept would be your first rounder.

Think you will need to throw in heeney to get that deal done ;)
But what does it matter where the points come from ?
What if a 2nd and two 3rds got you 75 more points ?

What if Freo offer their first round pick to us?
You'd better hope jetta wants to go to freo then !
Freo already have 4 jetta type players in hill , Pearce crozier and Walters as quick flankers forward of centre .
If they want to use their first on jetta instead of a much needed key forward they are stupid !

All about game theory. Do we trade a player that another team have a lack of, which we also lack, whilst allowing them to keep their first rounder when they seem to be challenging at the same time as us...

If you lack players like jetta why haven't you made him an offer he can't refuse ? He obviously loves the club

Late first rounder would just be the start. I think you would need to add something more.

Given that there are only 2 teams in contention for him I think we need to be realistic. We are not going to get his true value.
IMO his value is anywhere between 15-30 depending on if he is open to both WA clubs and what money is offered . I know both WA clubs have a fair bit of cap space . WCE rolled over $500000 from last years cap to use this year .
WCE are not the type of club to bend over other clubs at the trade table so you will get reasonably fair value for jetta .
My question before was would you accept multiple lower picks if they equaled and amounted to more than our first as you will be using them on academy bidding .

I think the changes to academy bidding would make this a distinct possibility. If we plan to use points rather than picks then the position of the pick is unlikely to be a deal breaker. It'd take some complex planning but as a basic theory it works.

Sydney will finish top 4 and you will get 2 of the top 10 mids in the draft and you are worried about keeping a 2nd rounder ?
It all depends on whether dunkley nominates us otherwise, our first rd pick and a downgraded second pick gets us mills.

This then means in reference to your first question that we would want a first rounder for jetta as the points no longer become an issue. We can then use that first rounder to address areas of need.

The answer is yes. We would. I'm not sure that WC would do that though because it's taking a punt on a single late 1st round pick.
