This then means in reference to your first question that we would want a first rounder for jetta as the points no longer become an issue. We can then use that first rounder to address areas of need.
Am I correct to say you don't get to choose what picks you use in academy bidding it just uses your next available picks including traded picks until you pay the points debt ?

KPD ?
If you draft one they will need time .
Would a 2nd rounder and McInness > jetta
KPD or ruck would be ideal, possibly a 2nd if it is combined with one of the two. I'm not that keen on McInness though and that isn't a personal shot at him. I'd be interested in a Brown or a Barass (the bloke debuting this week) though.

Pretty much, but you have to have a minimum of 3 selections. If Mills is valued at 7 or 8, we will be fine as our 1st plus a downgraded 2nd is enough. The issue is when/if Dunkley nominates and we will need another pick, whether that be a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd or a combination of a couple.

The answer is yes. We would. I'm not sure that WC would do that though because it's taking a punt on a single late 1st round pick.
Well the draft apparently get very thin after pick 30 this year so in picks 30+ to use on the day have less value and clubs will be more open to trade late picks for fringe players . But the point value of these picks doesn't diminish .
WCE may rather keep our first and selwood compo if he goes for the draft and try offload a couple of fringe player to acquire jetta .

We don't need fringe players and we won't agree to that, would be idiotic to say the least. We either need picks or a decent player and a 2nd rounder. Not a fringe rubbish though. There is a difference. Honestly all 3 clubs (Freo, WC, Sydney) are 3 of the best traders, and something will be worked out that is fair. It might involve a 3rd party, it may not.

Wouldn't get Brown to move to Sydney for 350k when he is from vic and saints offered him 500k 2 years back
True, but wasn't that before his injuries. Barass could be one. very highly rated but he is behind McGovern. In a way it is annoying he is playing this week as it may up his trade value, could have got him cheap.

Do we really need to specifically look just at KPD players?
Maybe we can find another left field player that turns into a KPD like Reg, or Ted?
Maybe, they don't grow on trees though. I actually feel our ruck is a more critical need anyway. Laidler/Reid/Grundy/Rampe or Marsh is a good backline with Newman the next off the rank.

I didn't think you were allowed to trade in decent players ? Over average wage which brown is .
Brown and our 2nd is overs for jetta .
That's why I said McInness . He is not a spud and only lost his place in the team this year to darling .

Of course they don't grow on trees, that also means that clubs are less willing to depart with even fringe KPD.
You are spot on about our ruck. Lots of talk about how our game plan is shite, yes it is shite, but worse than that it is predictable. Pyke doesn't or can't tap the ball to anyone other than the player at his feet. That is his one and only play.

How does he help our issues down back or in the ruck...answer he doesn't. Actually would rather Barass. Better prospect with more upside and with McGovern he has someone directly in front. Swans would want your first and push comes to shove that is what will happen. Your first, move on. Simple.

That is why we need either a monster VFL ruck, or try to get an athletic ruck. It is annoying that Ryder couldn't have wanted our a few years ago. However I firmly believe the game is moving towards these more athletic type of rucks, Pyke is a lumbering type who is a solid 2nd ruck.

It's actually amazing that there hasn't been more of a stink from AFL fans in general over the Swans trade ban. Absolutely ludicrous dictatorship that is impacting multiple players and clubs.
