we play the dogs at patersonsSo we play the dogs twice, both "away" gamesThat would have to be a first. Is it all because Freo "need" to have their bloody anzac day game at home?

So you've said, about 1000 times.first glance, looks like another soft draw. not quite as soft as 2014 - we should be hanging our heads in shame for that making finals given that fixture.

Seems like a favourable fixture to me. Is travelling to Darwin harder than travelling to Melbourne?
I've never been to Darwin. I kight have to use this as an excuse.

Plus that day we played GWS out there, think in their first year, they decided to do major roadworks on the road leading into the ground, missed most of the fun in the first quarter.Still Blacktown not even really Sydney so I won't count it.
If we can't beat Melbourne, where ever we play, we won't be anywhere near finals. Should win comfortably. If we adjust to the humid and greasy conditions, no. Game is at 7.10pm so conditions might be tough

Round eight looks like the road trip weekend...
Friday Night Cats v Blues
Saturday Arvo Saint v West Coast
Saturday Night Hawkes v Swans (then off to Kittens)
Some negatives
- 6 day break after travelling to QLD (Bris) round 4
- Consecutive 6 day breaks after travelling to Tassie round 10 (tough stretch b4 bye)
- 6 day break before travelling to QLD (GC) round 18
* These are the 2 longest flights in the game, AFL did us no favours.
Positives
+ Good draw, team wise
+ 8 & 9 day breaks b4 the Derbys (no excuses)
+ If ever theres a chance for a big scalp at Subi- Geelong (8day break), Sydney (8days), Hawks (7days)
+ Good chance to gain momentum early in the season and a great run home. (I know It didn't work too well this year?)
Pound for pound its a fair draw. We`re in the mix in an even competition, if we`re good enough we`ll play finals.
Early prediction 13/14 wins = Ladder 6th/ 7th.
good luck getting to patersons for a 6:10 start in round 2 v carlton - looks like the Friday night games are staring 30 mins earlier in the west, both round 2 for you guys and rounds 10 and 13 for freo...
But people need to get up early in the morning to get the paper!!!Interesting reading Melbourne clubs main problems were the start time of their games- causing slight drop in attendances last year. The AFL has now catered for this and is a major selling point of this draw. Bringing forward the start times of some games by 1 hour is massively more important than any long haul travel, short breaks between games or fairness of draw issues faced by other clubs.......??
WELL BOO F#%CKEN HOO MELBOURNE TEAMS!! This is how many games they will easily be able to watch in Melbourne in 2015. (Which is similar most years...)
Collingwood -17
Essendon - 17
Geelong - 17
Hawthorn - 17 (incl. Tassie home games)
Richmond - 16
Carlton - 16
Try being a supporter of a WA or SA team without a membership. Even then its max 11 games.

We don't deserve to play there, would be an empty stadium. I know its negative but I have come to truly think this current crop of players/team don't deserve by half the fans they have, they are under achieving and as a supporter since 1987 I don't think there has been a list that plays with so little heart, excepting Beauy of course. Not real impressed about only getting one game at the G, and four games over here total, but good with the bad and it looks like a decent fixture for us.
