I know I'm contradicting myself but I'm beginning to think, gee, maybe WCE can keep on winning. Watched them against the Cats today and they looked very good. Surprisingly fast through the centre and their forward line looked very dangerous.

Having said that looked like Geelong used up all their dance tickets last week. They were woeful.
If they face a team that matches them in the midfield they'll get beaten easily, their defence has been decimated by injury and every time Geelong got it inside 50 they looked out muscled and vulnerable. Beat them in the middle , that's the hard part especially with our clearance and stoppage structure atm.

I think Geelong still play like its 2009 and Ablett Bartel selwood (tho he is there still and good) chapman stevie j etc are all pouring through the middle dominating

They turn it over too much taking risks now

They will be good again soon enough though

Clark/Stanley/Blicvas/Hawkins/Kersten just to many talls.

Still can't believe they gave pick 21 for Stanley they need more midfielders their midfield depth is non-existent.

Would of passed on Clark and Stankley and looked elsewhere for midfielders to help Selwood out they are running him into the ground.

Really interesting discussion about the AFL, the history of indigenous players and racism. I haven't heard Michael Long speak much at all before but it's really hard to dislike his softly-spoken but very considered manner. He mentions he has some expectation that a place on the AFL Commission might be in the offing for him soon, seems like a worthy man to have that position.

Is this the first step in a Hawthorn take over of St Kilda? I think the state government would rather throw money developing a Hawthorn facility than redoing Moorabbin for St Kilda. That brings the league down to 17 teams. I just looked at a map. Is Dingley next door to Moorabbin Airport?

A bit of talk on the trade board about what it would take to get Clurey from Port given that he's a bit down the pecking order. If Jetta decided to head home after this contract I'd be happy to use the pick towards getting Clurey. fun fact: my phone also apparently auto corrects Jetta to Betts o_O

No thanks, talk about a downgrade to say the least. Would rather just take the pick and head to the draft.

I doubt that we would get a ready to play kpd from the draft with that pick.

With Teddy entering his twilight, talk of Grundy wanting a bigger pay packet, our depth untested at AFL level and the trade restrictions, we may soon need to find someone cheap, tall and ready to play. It's not an easy niche to fill.

Why are you wanting us to go after more average defenders? I get the idea of wanting a KPD...I'm in that corner too, but the one you want we are getting royally bent. We could get him for basically a throwaway pick without overpaying our potential Jetta trade (not that I want to trade our best ball user). Jetta would get us an early 2nd rounder, maybe mid 2nd so for arguments sake pick 25...is that worth trading for the bloke you want? In my book no, he is worth pick 40 odd. It is never smart business to overpay. You don't want to underpay but you don't want to overpay.
