The young guy was an utterly obnoxious prick who was going out of his way to annoy and pester Clarkson but lashing out and punching him was very foolish as well. It's clear he has a short temper at the best of times and feeling the need to jump to violence because of that juvenile twat isn't a good look.

You have to factor in we are talking about a multi-premiership coach that has been in the game for years.

There is not a thing he would not have heard tossed at him, and that is by his own club let alone opposition. He has a higher duty of care to never ever get physical over puerile verbal digs than average joe.

Totally unacceptable.

If a man walked up to you in the street, got up in your face and started heckling you, I think physically attempting to get him away from you is a valid reaction. The fact that he kept going after Clarkson reasonably pushed him away makes me feel like the stronger reaction was warranted. Not directed to the neck, but still. What was Clarkson supposed to so when he was against a wall and the guy was going shoulder to shoulder?

I'm quite a fan of Clarkson, but sure, he's got to reign his anger in better. The security issue is shocking though, it should have never got to that stage.

BigFooty. Where standing up against a racial slur is weak and bullying, but punching a person in the head who is being obnoxious in your personal space is completely justified. Won't post this on the main board as it will just turn into Goodes bashing but some of the attitudes on BigFooty are ******.

The guy was clearly a tosser and have little sympathy for him, but what would society be like if you could belt anyone that got on your nerves?

Ignore it.

I don't think he belted him, just a strong push/jab...it's more the grabbing of the throat that looks very very bad.

A little disappointed in Clarko.

Had a great opportunity to really lay the campaigner out.

You behave like a twat, you get treated like a twat.

The fact this muppet and his tipslut missus felt the need to contact every media outlet known to man really highlights their intentions.

Germs.
