NBA, Woodville,
So, one rule for others, one rule for us re: retirements. Banned from trading then "allowed" to trade for less than league average. Heeney pops up, and the goalposts are shifted to make us (and others, FS Northern academies, but still, no Heeney, no changes). Seems like a lot of effort to stifle us, and seems like a massive restriction of trade.

Wasn't that always the rules? When you contracted a player you payed out his contract regardless if he played or not?
I'm pretty sure we had to include Bradshaw's salary in our cap after he retired, it seems to be a grey area. But I understand the reasoning for the AFL wanting to make us include all of Buddy's contract.

Exactly. I always thought we had to pay him for 9 years. Just keep him on the playing list but as a coach :p

In Buddy's case he was a restricted free agent which meant the Hawks had the right to match any deal we offered. If we didn't have to include the entire contract in our cap, it would have been far too easy for us to offer him a contract that the Hawks couldn't match.

But yes, the rules certainly haven't been applied consistently.

I see what you did there.

You're more or less saying that our previous membership totals were merely a Goodes effort

Just give it a couple of years, our numbers will be off the Heeney
I don't like all the puns you've just made me Reid.

It's just trying too hard, you're acting like some Bird after Hiscox.

It is an odd record in a way, i mean clarkson has won the same amount of flags already.

But i think getting those flags in West Coast back in those days then turning basketcase collingwood around is easy to understate

Sometimes I like listening to him. Other times I suspect he likes listening to himself more than others

But yeah longevity is amazing in the modern day

OK. I admit it. I really was wrong.

Dear stinking, feral, stupid and moronic Adelaide fans.

Even though half of you are probably inbred and none of you have decent dental hygiene you were correct.

Jesse White is a potato.

We should not have offered him with pick 18 for Tippett.

We should have offered you a snickers bar instead.

The end.

Think QClash is going to resemble a game of waterpolo tomorrow. NRL test match called off, Suncorp stadium looks like a swimming pool and rain moving south. Have fun boys!:D
