Wouldn't you like someone to plug a hole- even just until we can develop out own young mids? He's the right age group and all :)
(As long as he doesn't cost too much, which I fear he will- judging by the price the Pies are offering).
Added bonus- we steal the lollipop straight from the Pies' mouth. What could be sweeter?
I'd rather that we just gave the opportunity to the players that we have on the list, missing out on Frawley and losing potentially Lonergan, Christensen and Varcoe while not fixing our ruck deficiency. I think we have gone backwards and should just rebuild through the draft. Time for a youth policy while we still have a few of our veteran around in support, in two year we wont have any.

Ryan Griffen has requested a trade to GWS???
Bulldogs just said that they won't trade him(he is contracted).
I am surprised this went pubic, it just makes everyone looks so unprofessional.

considering the people macca has around him, i wonder if the real issue at the Dogs is alot of the players don't want to do what it takes to be successful so they are at butting heads with the coaching staff.

with half of the geelong coaching and leadership group from our successful period at the club, i wonder if in trying to set standards that will make them successful they are ending up with alot of self important young players wanting to go elsewhere on bigger coin where they wont be expected to train as hard etc.

Fair enough. I quite like the idea of building through the draft and I guess we're waving goodbye to that elusive silver cup we thought might be close in 2015.

Unless its a play to shake a power forward loose from the GWS tree. Ups his value a bit if Dogs state he isn't going anywhere.

Some Team on the Decline
Whoever is left at the end of the trade period need to develop the us against the world mentality of 2011.

2011 - Too Old, Too Slow

2015 - You didn't want to be here, so why don't your shove this premiership cup we won without you up your ****** ****

Does anyone know much about Sam Grimley from the Hawks? He has asked for a trade for more opportunities

Is he a ruck? Or KP?

Stands at 198cm 93kg. Didn't get a game this year but played 3 in 2013 and avg 14 touches and 5 marks.

Could be worth a look?
I mentioned Sam Grimley 2 weeks ago when we were talking rucks, Lowden was the other, but imo Grimley is the better AFL prospect as far as I'm concerned.
I think he won the VFL goalkicking so he's obviously more a forward than a ruck, and he's extremely mobile for a guy listed at 199cm.
Could he be turned into a defender, maybe, but his long straight kicks are a feature of his game and he is a proven goal kicker at VFL level.
I like him, has got talent and size.

Dees will do well with their drafting.

Tipping their picks as follows:
2 - P Wright
3 - Brayshaw
22 - O McDonald
41 - B Stretch
61 - Garlett

Wasn't that 2015 sentiment also how they felt about GAJ in 2011?

Fallen hard

Makes it worse that the Hawks are doing it much better in their successful years than we did.

Nearly enough to walk away it'll be the 80's all over again, we really should had won more flags with our dominance
We basically just ****** it all by choking in 2008 and handing it to them on a platter. If we had 4, which wouldn't be an unreasonable representation of our dominance at the time (H&A winning %, AAs etc), and they 2, we'd be very happy with our lot. Even if we had 3, but they had 2 (e.g. we went back to back in 2008 but lost to St Kilda in 2009), we'd be far happier than now. For all that I complain about how lucky the Hawks are, we have only ourselves to blame for this particular gripe.

In time the Hawks will look the better team with their 3 flags. Despite our H/A doinence it counts for nothing, with the lack of duscpline on and off the feild and players wanting out I really questions Joel's and Scott's leadership.

Hard questions needs to be asked in the club

I wouldn't question Joel's leadership for a second.

Jesus, do people think they have 24hr tabs on these guys like a boarding school or were involved in their upbringing where most of their behavioural tendencies were developed. They do have lives and make their choices, stop trying to pass the buck for their own decisions.
