Totally understand that the 'compensation' we receieve if Bundy, Tom and Trav are out the door will not satiisfy too many around here. But that's always going to be the case.
Ironically, the best deal leaves both parties somewhat dissatisfied.. *shrugs*

Who cares Teri, get over it!.... a few past cameos, ....go have a look on the Collingwood forum at their straw pole on Varcoe, it has them not even wanting him on their list, that's how excited they are bout Trav.
Count ourselves lucky we get Mitch.
Wow! I'm confused. One minute I was talking to your son, then he's morphed into you  I never even realised...
What happened? Or did he just suddenly age?

IIRC, many of the people who frequent this forum and post a lot, actually denied he had been "shopped around" at the start of the season. They vehemently denied it to anyone who suggested it.
We can all believe whatever we like (given the following article doesn't contain a direct quote from #5) but I'm going with the likelihood that some offers were entertained...

Varcoe, 25, was placed on the trade table by Geelong in October, but remained a Cat after a suitable deal did not eventuate.

Blues likely to trade 7 for Jaksch, Whiley and 19. On paper that looks a good trade for Blues.

Cats should shop Bundy to GWS for suitable trade. Could get a good player with 1-2yr development.

and the AFL has stopped the Swans using COLA to attract free agents or contracted players. which is essentially an admission that COLA has assisted them to get franklin and tippet. The can't bring in anyone except draftees and delisted free agents until cola is gone.

So the AFL went through the whole Buddy contract, found nothing amiss, dropped the COLA payments and have now created this rule- but there was nothing wrong with the contract?? Spare me!!!!

Won = past tense. 3 years ago and counting.

No it isn't that bad, but Geelong has a terrible cultural history of embracing mediocrity and being content to finish 2nd. As soon as you start overly celebrating the past instead of focusing on the present we'll be doomed to repeat it.
I know this is going back a bit, but I agree, 100%. Mediocrity should NOT be accepted. And nothing less then a flag is a loss.

But I don't see why so many jump at the throats of our club when they have done nothing wrong. Clearly one of the best clubs, on & off the field, over the last decade & the envy of many. I may have blind faith, but I think the GFC has done enough to earn our trust in that they know what they are doing. They get it right most of the time.

Anyways, back on track. Free agents, trades & player movement & stuff :)

I like Coniglio and Shiels-you never know-a few people says that a lot of GWS guys want to come home
I'm sounding like a Broken record but if we can get Bundy to Poachers or Bears and then they give something to GWS.

How about Bundy to Lions - Lions send Sauce and pick 25 to GWS we get sexy youngster? Maybe needs a pick or two more to get it done at the back end.

I've heard that Lowden is a possible option for trade and Schoenmakers still would consider a trade too...I hope we are looking at them.
