still unsure why so many here feel as though Clark will be a welcomed inclusion and we can effectively brush off either Simpson or McIntosh.
He's been so injury-prone, 97 games in 8 seasons and this is the bloke we are entrusting to take over ruck/key forward duties?

At least Menzel and Vardy have youth on their side given they're both 4 years younger. I was extremely critical we went after McIntosh at the time, just too much of a gamble on these big blokes.
Do others agree?
i do agree. not sure how we carry simpson, mcintosh, vardy, clark, walker, blitz, brown, kersten, hawkins. all playing for 3-4 spots in the team, and none of them seriously young. if 2 or 3 of them were like 18 or 19 or something it would make more sense.

In light of what's just happened with Christensen, it's a gamble we simply can't afford now.
Clark will be played permanent forward, IMO (rightly or wrongly). McIntosh is cooked. My fingers are crossed in the hope that Simpson can have a huge pre-season and carry most of the load. Long term, I think Vardy will be a better ruckman than forward.

As a forward Mitch is definitely a welcome inclusion, on Walkins last couple of games we now have more than 1 option there in case of injury. Still not sure if he (Clark) is actually expected to take a prominent ruck role as opposed to 'as needed hitouts etc'.

We cannot effectively brush off either Simpson or McIntosh! However if injury was to preclude either playing we are slightly more viable, would like to know whether Clark is willing/capable of playing as #1 ruck because that is a major need IMO.

Menzel was never in question as a ruck, just a min, how tall is he..? If he makes it back as a key forward, that has definitely gotta b a bonus, hopeful that NV also can get in a good preseason and put some of his skills on display..

Edit - Just a note on the use of "Walkins", always going to b Josh I'm talking about :)

we'd lose a pick but perhaps we could take 21 + 35 to get another 10-15 pick. Two inside top 15 would be good.

eg 11, 14, 55 and Blitz upgrade.

Only carry 43 players. It can be done.

Saves on SC too, as minimal as draft pick salary can be.

As long as we can get any 2 of Laverde, Duggan, Marchbank, Ahern, Goddard, Cockatoo I would be rapt.
If we got say Laverde and Marchbank I would be over the moon

It really depends on how Wells sees the draft. The "experts" are saying that it's really even so two picks might be better if this is the case. I don't think 21 + 35 = 11 either. More like 14 or 15. Keep what we've got, IMO.

I was just going with the theory but yes 14 and 15 would be great…

I've read ALOT of stuff about this draft and from that I understand the draft starts to thin out from 30-35-40, however their looks to be some handy late to rookie options that if they come on will pay handsomely.

My knowledge on the draft is average at best; I'm just throwing ideas out there. Any particular late/rookie options that you think might interest us?

what makes you think Clark's body is going to hold up after serious foot concerns?
He will have had a fair amount of time off since he last injured it and they didn't botch the surgery like they did with Egan. I wouldn't be too worried.

So Lonergan's staying,Rivers has re-signed and Clark's on the way,the question from me is what are Browns choices can he still request a trade at this late date, could he still be delisted?
With the names you've listed, plus those forwards, I am unsure if there's a place for him. Defence is his only spot you'd say, but again he's 4-5 places out of the team.

Is he happy waiting for a chance again?

I had enough of him. What Is the point of trading him If we would only get a pick 50 for him and we would probably not use the pick. My word is to delist him and if he is lucky, he gets drafted again in the National, Preseason or Rookie. Good luck Browny
